What ever you do, don't buy this version of McLintock!(VINA distributor). This movie has always been a favorite of mine, but the quality of this DVD was beyond disappointing. It looked like it was transferred from a VHS recording of a television broadcast of an old, used print in the 1970s. I really wish I had bothered to look at the reviews before I ordered it. I didn't pay very much, but it wasn't even worth the shipping cost.

Love me some John Wayne classics,

This review is from: McLintock! (Western) (DVD)
This is among my favorite movies of all time. All of the actors were outstanding. Mr. Wayne, Yvonne deCarlo, Maureen O'Hara, and the entire support cast were great. I enjoy watching a teen-aged Stephanie Powers and a young Jerry Van Dyke singing a duet. The conversation between John Wayne and Stephanie Powers about her inheritance gives me chills. He still loves his wife and wants his daughter to have the type of love that her parents experienced. Stephanie's character's affection for her father is also genuine. There is a lot of passion in this movie. I liked how John Wayne supported the Native Americans. He was allowed to give them as much respect as possible as accepted during the time period of this movie and when the movie was made. Clearly, this was a fun movie to make and everyone looked like they were having a good time. Their enthusiam and commaraderie comes across in the movie. The color is vibrant. Thank you Amazon for making movies of this type available to us.
