I bought this to replace my old, (2000) and battered Motor Carriers' atlas. I went with the Deluxe laminated version this time.
I haven't driven a truck since the late 90's, but I'm used to the Motor Carriers' version.
I love the spiral binding since the pages lay flat without breaking the spine. I really like the laminated maps as my paper versions took alot of abuse. I ruined them before they were too out of date, (usually coffee, oil or diesel in various combinations.)
My only complaint is that the lamination is shiny enough for sun glare. Otherwise this is a five star atlas.

Deluxe version is spiral bound so can be folded flat for easier viewing and handling. In addition, the pages are laminated so it's more resistant to potential wear and tear. Online pricing is a bit steep so look at a nearby truck stop such as TA, Pilot, or Love's for a copy first. This map is well put together and has extensive list of info needed to provide for an efficient trip planning.

I was so tired of the plastic spiral breaking cause you're trying to keep the rolled up pages that curl with use straight and clean if you happen to spill a little liquid on it. The plastic coating is great. It's as up to date as anything we've used on our travels; sometimes even a GPS device.

I am a new OTR Driver and this has been great for me. Being laminated is also a great help. I can highlight my route for my trip and at the end of the trip just erase it and highlight the next one. It is easy to read and has a lot of very useful information in it for us new and old truck drivers (low bridge heights, miles between destinations, etc...).

My son is a long haul trucker. He was complaining about the maps he was using and how they were falling apart. I ordered the Rand McNally's atlas online and gave it to him. He has done nothing but rave to me and to his buddy truckers how great this atlas is and how he uses it all the time. Fortunately, I gave him all the ordering information so he could pass it on to is trucking buddies. So orders should be up, Rand McNally!

This I got for my hubby went into truck driving and we could not find anywhere except Amazon. Christmas present. We are notorius in ruining atlas books so with the plastic coated pages helps save the book. Has all the info any truck driver needs to get around the roads of the United States. CrazyLady

i got this for my hubbyfor a ann gift it is great for truckers tio use he loves it at a great price saved allot on it

I was hoping for a clear map that would help navigate through some of the larger cities. The roads are so close together that it becomes a mass of yellow highlight. I blame myself for not researching this item further before purchase. I can tell anyone who reads this to save your money.

We have not yet used this product. Our first trip will be in June 2010.
