GREAT BOOK - I passed the first time,
By tmaioli "Tom" (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
I recommend this book I used it along with the Exam Cram book the two complete each other. You might be able to pass with this book alone but why waste the 100 dollars if you don't. The goal of any test should be to pass on the first try. This book and the exam cram ISBN # 1-57610-193-2 will help you meet that goal. I recommend this book and give it the 5 star seal of approval. I passed this test on the first try with an 833 and I am a MCP. As with most of these study guides it helps to use more than one.

Need more to pass,
By A Customer
This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
This is a good book to give you a strong foundation of 4.0 to build upon in order to pass the test. I would not rely on it alone. There were areas of the test that the book did not cover. The test had a question on NT and Unix, never got into Unix.

Overbearing And Obtrusive Paperweight,
By A Customer
This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
This book is patently and blatantly boring; saturated with information that is forever flying off onto unrelated tangents, it is difficult to see the Forest for the Trees with Perkins material. One classic example of being left hanging in the Twillight Zone is wherein Perkins informs you that with a Mirrored Set you need a boot disk tailored to same in the event of a failure...yet nowhere within that book will you find the information telling you how to create that modified diskette. Do some research and spend your money on something that you will use, and can be of use to you.Absolutely and positively not worth your time.

Big, Bulky, Boring,
This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
This book is unreadable. It is no better than something straight from Microsoft, like it was written by the IRS. It is too bulky and boring to be a tutorial, not useful as a reference, and a huge waste of time.

All you need to know to pass the test!,
By lmiranda@playtexnet.com (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) - See all my reviews

I found this book a excellent source of information to pass the test. If you are not sure about which book you should read first (Workstation or Server), my recomendation is read this book first and take the NT workstation test. Then go for the NT Server test.

This book should get you past this exam.,
This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
I used this book to pass exam 70-073. I feel it had all the data needed to pass. I also used the exam notes from Sybex. This book I wouldn't try an exam without. I just bought this combo for the server exam also. The exam notes is the key to this set. It realy helped me...

Good prep book for the exam,
This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
I took the MS course on this topic and used the study guide book to review. The book is geared for the exam and will be very beneficial. They sometimes refer to acronyms that are not defined in the chapters or in the glossary. Still, a good book to use for exam prep.

Very clear, very few errors, and a decent test CD included,
By A Customer
This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
I thought this book was straight to the point, had excellent exercises, and followed the test objectives very well. Use this in combination with the MCSE test success book (watch for errors in the study question answers) and you will do well on the Workstation Exam. This book did not just do exam prep, it also provides some good hands on learning....My thanks to the authors and to Sybex! Systems Engineer - MCSE, CNE, CCA

Not perfect, but I found it helpful.,

This review is from: McSe: Nt Workstation 4 Study Guide (Hardcover)
My background is applications programming under Unix, with no Windows NT experience. I took a training class and read this book. I also used Microsoft's Readiness Review book and "MCSE Test Yourself Practice Exams". I could have used more information on various aspects of networking, Netware, and RAS, but I did pass my exam on the first try.

Buy it, but you still need more.,

To pass this exam, no one study guide will do it. This is a good start. Supplement this study guide with ExamCram and you should be all set.
