Mcfarlane Toys Rock N' Roll Action Figure Elvis #1 '68 Comeback

After waiting for quite some time for this one to hit the streets, I got what I'd been waiting for...the King in full-blown plastic. And while the figure itself looks great and is sturdily built, the stage setting is one of the worst McFarlane toys I've ever purchased.

First, be warned that this is a sculpture, NOT an action figure. He has only a couple of points of articulation, and it's impossible to remove him from the one-foot-on-the-chair pose. Second, be warned that, although there are pegs and holes for each piece to fit into, I broke the chair on mine simply trying to get it into place. After I glued it back together, the big E's foot STILL wouldn't fit on the pegs on the chair, AND his left foot levitated a quarter of an onch off the "stage".

It's sad, really, that after waiting so long, I got the most poorly made toy in the history of McFarlane Toys. Todd, if you're listening, your name used to stand for quality in the greed-soaked toy business. Don't let that rep slip too far.

This Elvis figure is INCREDIBLE. The detail is great and it looks just like Elvis. His guitar he is holding is beautiful and looks realistic as well. The figure isn't very articulated. I think he can only move at the neck, shoulders and wrists. But, I didn't get this figure in hopes of being able to pose him. He's more just for display, so the lack of articulation doesn't bring the figure down at all.

The paint job and color is fantastic, I really like it. The sculpting is awesome too, you can see the veins in his neck and hands! This figure is just full of emotion and I love it. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Elvis.

Once you see this toy You'll probably scream "Viva Las Vegas!" This toy is so cool! If you don't buy it you ain't nothin' but a hound dog! I want this toy, I need this toy, I love this toy! (Get it)

I was really excited when I first heard that McFarlane was doing a series of Elvis figures. I'm not just a huge Elvis fan, but I like him alright and living right next to Memphis, I figured I would check them out, to see if McFarlane would do a good job. I was not disappointed. The figure looks simply spectacular! The likeness is very good, and the attention to detail is extraordinary. The only thing that I didn't like very much is the stage. It's red plastic, and it looks like plastic. It's not supposed to look like plastic. It's supposed to look like a stage. It kind of detracts from the figure a bit when you look at it on your shelf. But the figure itself is just awesome. I do like him captured in the act of singing and playing his guitar with one leg up on the seat of his chair. This would be the perfect present for any Elvis fan, I promise you!
