Straight Out Hammond B-3 Funk,

With guests Eric Alexander and the "turbonator" himself, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy McGriff's House Party CD is an orgy of straight funk with house rumbling basslines, some twangy funk guitar and those slick licks virtally synonomous with McGriff - He's the first man of funk and organ blues and has been in the game probably longer than anyone, and NO, he hasn't softened with age. If you like this CD, check out his "Funkiest Band In The Land" and also Blue Note's LOST GROOVES compilation as well !

Jimmy McGriff aka the Groover, still Funks at you even after all these years. Starting off with Neckbone a la Carte, through Red Cadillac Boogie and ending with the soulful Dishin the Dirt, McGriff's House is the place to get going down. It is an instint Abashag Classic
