The best CD available of this absolutley HOT orchestra, September 8, 2000

Don Redman was the leader of McKinney's Cotton Pickers, and during the late 20's they were at their peak. Tight arrangements and pleasing solos and vocals make this CD highly enjoyable and essentail for collectors of hot jazz. Included here are two versions of the classic "Four or Five Times," every track is a classic. This CD is essential for any jazz fan. Get this CD first then buy 29-30 and 30-31/39-40 all on the excellent Classics label.
