4.0 out of 5 stars One step to love, October 11, 2009
By
Mike McTavish was a bit slow on the uptake, he had no idea that his orphaned twin niece (Laura) and nephew (Matthew) were being treated badly by Caroline, even though other people had told him what she was like, he thought they were judging her because of her father, but she was a chip off of the old block(head).
It made me wonder if he had a permanent memory loss as to how his parents were when he was a child.
The twins run away at the beginning of the book, because Caroline (Mike's bride-to-be)cut Laura's hair, Matthew had turned shy because he had lost his parents, his home, and now they where being mistreated by Caroline at every turn.
Mike didn't notice this, but it took Erin O'Connell only a few minutes to not only understand the kids fears but just what they were up against.
So Erin went to battle.
