And very country.

I'm a fan of simple songs but there is not a country song by a male singer that I recall liking.

I guess this is the first. I'm not sure.

Not that it matters much, but I'm sure he's a Christian, speaking of "Me and God". Many country singers tend to be.

It's very simple and he even rhymes, "Two peas in a pod" with "Me and God", which could be considered a huge misstep.

But it was his reluctance to back down; a strong refusal to call God just a good friend, but his BEST. None other could get between the two, the sincerity he displayed in his words was what got me to stay and listen.

If my mom wasn't sleeping she might have looked at me a bit funny. But this song commanded my attention.

Let's just say that if someone told me to put this on my next mp3 player, I wouldn't hesitate just because it's that close to being a great song.
