Great gift for your dad on Father's Day!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Me and My Dad (Hardcover)
This is a very cute compilation of quotes from kids. Some of them were very funny, some were touching. Made me remember some things I love about my dad.

Adorable Dad Book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Me and My Dad (Hardcover)
It's fabulously funny and extragavantly warm-hearted. Absolutely the perfect gift for a dad - not only on Father's day, but any time you want to show your love and make a dad happy. It's kids writing about their fathers, and the drawings enhance their charming, loving, no-holds-barred testimonies.

Thank you for the pleasure of smiling. This little treasure will please especially adults remembering their own childhood or that of their now grown children, but it is certainly also a pleaser for children.

My Kids Gave Me This For Father's Day,
By
This review is from: Me and My Dad (Hardcover)
This book is not exactly what one would expect. It's more of a realistic look at funny and heart warming comments children probably have really made about their Dads. As a father of five, I know that kids are completely unpredictable. There is an element of surprise in some of these comments. Sometimes positive, sometimes backhanded humor. (I think the one star reviewer was overly negative...ironic considering his comments). One page has this one it..."I love him very much. If he raises my allowance, I will love him even more" Seth. Some of the comments are pretty funny. Some were not. The book doesn't bill itself as humor only...but just about kids and their Dads. So you get all kinds of things. It's a different kind of book and I'm glad my kids gave a copy to me for Father's Day. I hope you enjoy it.

Collection of basic thoughts on the father-child relationship,
By Charles Ashbacher (Marion, Iowa United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER)
This review is from: Me and My Dad (Hardcover)
This collection of anecdotes written from the child perspective of the father-child relationship is an illustration of how many different dads and children there are. It also demonstrates how the simple things are what children remember about their fathers. There is very little in the way of, "We went to Disneyland", most of the notes are about the daily things in life. Eating a meal and asking questions, sometimes it is the "because I said so" parental authority, and other times they are venting their frustration at being on the kid side of the parent-child relationship.Yet, despite their simplicity, there is a great deal to be learned from this collection of children's thoughts. Even though their minds cannot grasp the complexities of the world, children have a unique perspective that adults should never fail to consider. Sometimes, the easiest way to see your way around a big problem is to look at it as a small problem. Raising children is the best example of this.

Disappointed Dad on Dad's Day,
By A Customer
This review is from: Me and My Dad (Hardcover)
There are three sections in the book, and the largest is titled, "Room for Improvement." In this section, as the others, are quotes from children about their fathers. While the other two sections have cute, warm, uplifting quotes, this one - the largest - contains veiled compliments and outright put-downs for the kids' dads. We were hoping for a sweet, uplifting book of quotes, and instead found a mostly disappointing, bummer of a book.
