I loved this fine collection of late 1930's swing music and enjoyed it as much as I did the motion picture. I was amazed that I had to purchase the CD from England as it can not be bought in America (even as a download).

If you love music of the Thirties and Forties, buy this sound track. Having seen and loved the movie, I now also love this CD.

marvelous sound tract from the movie "me and orson welles". young and not so young would love to hear great artists from the past.
tried to purchase cd as soon as we viewed the movie. was told it could not be purchased in the u.s. grateful to amazon!!

This review is for the movie and also for the soundtrack. I am saying this because I bought both the movie and the CD from Amazon but I am thinking the review will only be for one item and not both. I also gave the movie four stars but the review shows only three and I could not edit it. Definitely four...

This movie is so charming, it's enjoyable from beginning to end. Christian McKay, of course, is Orson and plays him so well that I thought I was seeing the real twenty-two year old genius, it was so fascinating to see and hear him speak his lines, a real natural just as the real Orson was. This film depicted the time a little before Orson's Mercury Theatre radio show scared the Jerseyites with the alien invasion. I would like to see another movie with Christian continuing his role of Orson in a portrayal of that particular episode, it would do quite well, also, I think. Christian has already been nominated for a BAFTA and Independent Spirit Awards so maybe this news will encourage people to see this film if they haven't already. Zac Efron surprised me with his underplaying in his key role as Orson's assistant. I know he is in his twenties but he convinced me that he was seventeen years old. Good for him! Some young ones in their twenties portraying teenagers in films can not pull off their parts but he is perfect in doing so. He will be in show business for quite awhile, he is a keeper. Claire Danes is Orson's "true" assistant and does an admirable job but I pictured several other actresses doing just as well in her part, meaning there is no stretch of acting in her role. Not a complaint, just an observation. If anyone likes the period of the thirties and wants to see Orson and his group of Mercury Theatre actors and be thoroughly entertained, then this is the film to see. The soundtrack is pure heaven consisting of original singers and musicians of that time. I made my purchase after seeing the film and recommend it to all lovers of good music, 17 tracks, almost unheard of today on a CD.
