Paty Cantu wrote all but one of the songs on her first solo album, and her talent is evident. Her lyrics are beautiful and thoughtful and her voice is strong and sweet at the same time. This is a great debut for a young and promising Mexican artist.

Each of the songs tells a very personal story for Paty and this comes across in each track and her heart-felt live perfomances. The music was produced by two important (and very different) producers in the latin music industry. They really brought out Paty's wide vocal range and music style.

While the lyrics are truly an exceptional part of Paty's work, the melodies here are equally wonderful. Latin Pop should always be this contemporary and smart.

Paty is one of the most talented young female singers to emerge in latin pop in many years. You will enjoy her music, and as you get to know more about her, you'll also enjoy her down-to-earth personality and creative nature (see the Tim Burton/Little Prince-inspired video she personally created for track 2, "No Fue Suficiente".)

I look forward to watching (and hearing!) Paty grow as an artist!

Lo primero que escuchamos de la ex Lu fue la nueva versión de "Dos Palabras" con Motel. En el mes de septiembre, Paty lanza su primer sencillo "Déjame ir" junto con "Ayúdame a no llorar", "No fue suficiente" y "Me quedo sola" por su myspace oficial. Desde que oí las cuatro canciones no estaba seguro si quería hacer algo diferente a lo que ya había hecho en Lu, porque tres de las cuatro canciones mantenían el mismo estilo del segundo disco de ellos, "Álbum". En cambio "Ayúdame a no llorar" suena distinta y refrescante aunque la canción habla del desamor. Cuando ex integrantes de agrupaciones sacan sus discos como solistas, críticos al igual que fans se preguntan si sonara igual o mejor que sus trabajos pasados. Al parecer Paty iba a seguir con el mismo estilo de Lu, pero nunca hay que juzgar un disco por cuatro canciones

Finalmente EMI decide arriesgarse con el lanzamiento de este discazo y la verdad ya era hora! Esta chava tiene un talento para escribir canciones y que decir de la produccion de los maestros Loris Ceroni (el responsable del exito de ov7, tambien le ha producido a Alejandra Guzman, Kalimba, Iskander, y el nuevo discazo de la ex-Kabah, Maria Jose) y Luis Fernando Ochoa (quien ha trabajado con Shakira desde "Pies descalzos")

La primera canción del disco, "Un amor diferente" fue una de las primeras canciones que escribió Paty al desintegrarse Lu. La canción habla sobre lo que siente Paty ya como solista, pidiéndole a sus fans que sigan con ella y así ella reencontrarse con ellos con "un amor muy diferente". La mayoría de las canciones hablan sobre el desamor y lo que fue para Paty haber dejado Lu (Paty no ha dicho si alguna canción es dedicada a Mario Sandoval) pero los productores les pusieron arreglos a las canciones que las hacen un poco mas moviditas como en "Solo por estar", "Quiero todo, quiero nada", "Ayúdame a no llorar" y "Pensaras en mi". Creo que las letras de las canciones sobrepasa todo porque Paty es una excelente cantautora. Al escuchar el tema numero 9, "Eclipse" se nota la influencia de Motel y ayuda a mostrar la versatilidad de Paty. El tema final, "Quiero todo, quiero nada" es diferente a los demás porque habla sobre lo que busca Paty en una relación. Aunque Paty Cantú apenas comienza su carrera como solista, tiene un gran futuro por delante, especialmente porque escribe buenísimas canciones que vienen del corazón.

Very easy to listen to and enjoyable. If you like her work in LU this solo effort will not disappoint.
