Fit the bill nicely. Good enough to view the moon and the deer out in the field.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good scope for little money, April 17, 2011

This review is from: Meade 60AZT 60mm f/5.8 Refracting Telescope w/ Software (Electronics)
I needed a real scope for Bullseye target shooting at the 50ft indoor range, it was difficult to see the .22 holes with the 10x50 binoculars I was using and this scope fit the bill nicely. On its lowest power lens I am able to make out my .22 shots in the black center of the target with an almost black background behind it even with the less than bright lighting at the indoor range, the only place I have used it. Not a very high quality scope but I get a nice sharp image once adjusted so the optics seem good for my needs. Small tripod made of metal works well enough. But I noticed where the scope attaches to the tripod the screw that tightens them together, the tripod base was threaded as well as the scope base, with the undercut on the screw not long enough to get the thread to turn freely without tightening up in the tripod base. So I drilled out the tripod base just large enough to allow the screw to freely turn, so far it hasnt fallen out because of other tripod universal adjustment joint stuff in the way. Nice fabric case with a handle to carry and store in. I removed the dew cover on the front lens, not needed for my needs, it just slides off with a twisting tug. A good inexpensive scope with a variety of eyepiece lenses for magnification, not a zoom scope. Well worth the few $'s it cost me.
