I received the TW636NLW when ordering this. On the unit I got (unlike the product photo), there are no LCD icons to indicate that the temp and humidity are rising, falling or staying steady. All the left and right sections of the display are on opposite sides compared to what's pictured. The red text on the buttons is blue. There is no metal accent on the lower left side. The text "weathertime" in blue and white is printed between the Meade logo and the buttons.

As others have said, the manual is poor.

I liked being able to enter my elevation above sea level to calibrate the hygrometer, but the pressure readings were still not accurate. The remote and main units were not totally calibrated to give the exact same readings, and I don't believe they were incredibly accurate. For this price, that's not really acceptable.

The biggest design complaint I have is that the pressure history graph is always animating, and goes from -24 hours to 0 hours. This takes about 10 seconds, which means you have to wait to see the most recent trend until the entire graph finishes drawing. This also reduces battery life.

Unfortunately, communication with the remote until kept stopping every day for a window of a few hours.

The product, for the price, is a very accurate weather unit. So far, the base unit picks up the signal from the transmitter at a distance that is pleasantly surprising. The unit also picked up the NIST signal (which is often a problem living in Michigan). And, the date and time were set automatically like the manual said would happen. However, after moving the weather station from a westerly exposed direction to the east side of the house, the signal was lost and I've been unable to attain a new signal for the last two days. I'm guessing, at this time, it's because we are having very thick cloud cover and the signal is being compromised.

The set up instructional manual should be rewritten. It is confusing and should, at least, let the purchaser know the batteries in the base unit need to be activated by removing the plastic contact strips.

The large easy to read display is a plus during the day time hours, but it would be nice to be able to light up the unit to see the display during the evening hours.

All in all, I think the unit is a very good buy. It's slim, compact feature allows the unit to be placed anywhere and not be a focal point and yet provide information for which it is intended.

I have it for over a month and it is going OK in general. The communication between sensor and display is very tolerant as far as line of site issues and barriers between units; mine are some 30 ft apart with selection of partial walls, blinds and glass between them. You definitely need to use lithium batteries for outdoor sensor, otherwise it will interrupt transmission often, even if you don't get freeze point. After this adjustment - I started with alkaline - outdoor sensor and its comms to display have being very stable. The outdoor sensor is not 100% coherent with the indoor one (the temperatures will not match when one is close to the other), but will be inside the ball park. OK if you're not intending to do science with it; if that is your case, likely you need to spend more cash in something that is properly calibrated, etc. No issues with the atomic clock, at least where I live (South TX), it's always picking up the satellite signal. Other positive side for me is it's appearance. This one doesn't attract much of attention among other objects over the counter tops; as these things are ugly by nature, that's what I was looking for. It doesn't have a back light screen - which I was not expecting anyway from reading the product specs - so it's not practical for people that wants it as a bed side clock. I still have to see how it performs during true winter weather, freeze alarms, etc. So far it passed OK trough one or two nights in these conditions, but to me this is not a sufficient trial.

The manual instructions to set it up do not work all the time, it just doesn't respond to what you're told to do.

Sets up easily, manual is small a bit hard to read, but the unit works great. We tried a couple of others that were cheaper but the range wasn't good. This is a nice stylish product - That Works.

I bought this station to use aboard our cruising sailboat as the primary barometer. While we are too far away to use the atomic clock function, all other functions work very well. Design is good, and the slim profile fits the space we have for it. We use it mounted on the wall, and the second transmitter sits outside. Really though, there's usually not much difference between outside and inside!
