Don't know what kind of support you'll find for this.

With the Meade "Deluxe" you have to position your sensors within ten feet of the base station, and that's even without intervening walls.

The temp, humidity (in and out), wind speed - all check with the other stations I have.

PROS: This weather center has lots of modules and all the bells and whistles you might expect. The main control center is pretty to look at.

CONS: The wireless range of this system through walls is maybe 5 feet maximum, and this is just for the rain gauge. If you're mounting your wind, temperature and UV sensors outside (and why wouldn't you?), they all need to be within 2 to 3 feet of the main control unit to register. This is a serious flaw as you can't get accurate readings if you have to mount everything against the wall of your house. Also, all the modules seem to update rather infrequently (seems to be about every 3 to 5 minutes). This is OK for temperature, but kind of low tech for wind and wind direction.

Given the fact that the installation direction didn't explain what the 2 bags of hardware were for the setep was pretty straight foward.I was very pleased that all the instruments worked given the fact that I scattered them all over my yard. This is my second weather station and I allready like it much better.I haven't looked at the pc interface because i am running Windows 7 but I'll give it a shot when I'm in the right mood.

I purchased the Meade TE923W weather station to replace my 10 year old LaCrosse station. I wanted the wind gust measurement and a Windows 7 compatible interface which were not available for my LaCrosse unit. The Meade went together easily and communications was established with all sensors without problems. Unfortunately, the atomic clock setting has never gotten signal, and the 300 meter sensor range is pure hype. My system is challenged at 5 meters with a single stud wall in the way. The computer application is not bad, although doesn't have the display flexibility of my 10 year old unit. It does, however, have compatibility with Windows 7 and that is important. That was the only thing forcing me to keep an xp box around.

I don't leave reviews, but I feel I need to warn potential buyers. I'm now on my third unit, and all have had the same problem - the temp/humidity sensor has stopped transmitting on all of them. First one lasted a week, second a month, I had high hopes for this last one, but alas, after 5 months it's now also stopped transmitting.

Tried the reset button, changing channels, etc., red light flashes like it's sending update, and LCD shows temp/humidity reading but nothing on the monitor, just dashes.

As I was writing this, I just noticed that the UV sensor had the same reading - sunny outside, just dashes on the monitor. Brought it in for the same trouble shooting - same result as the temp/humidity sensor.

I wonder how long the wind sensor will hold out.

Never again another Meade for me --- don't waste your money.

I recieved this as a christmas gift. It took about 15 minutes to set up, and it worked as expected right out of the box. The instructions were easy to follow and it took longer to find all the batteries than it did to get it all up and working. So far all the sensors have been working fine and I have had good luck with communicating remotely at over 100ft. I would definately reccomend this as a moderately priced weather station.

I purchased this unit to replace a low end LaCrosse unit that broke. I was very pleased with the overall quality of this Meade product. The outdoor sensors are made with much higher quality than my last station. The set up was simple, worked the first time, and the display is great. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that wants more weather information than just the temperature outside.

The unit performs well and was fairly straight forward on install. Instructions has a lot to be improved. Not the easiest to program and get all settings as they should. The instructions were not very clear on how to do the initial set up. Be sure to not put power to the base unit until you have all the batteries in the outside units. This was in the instructions, but just a reminder.
Overall, I am pleased with the unit, there is a lot of information it gives, now I just need to know how to interpret the information for useful knowledge of the weather.

I wanted a unit with separate sensors as opposed to one that has all of the sensors together installed above the roof. I live in the Phoenix area and, in my opinion, weather stations in this price point have problems with accurate temperature readings if the sensors are exposed to direct sun. Therefore, my choices were limited. I decided on the Meade TE923W-M following much extensive research online. Prior to installation, I READ the instructions and set it up exactly as directed - all units together - all units powered up before the base was powered up. After all of the sensors communicated with the base, I took them one by one to their permanent locations. All of the sensors continued to communicate with the base. The rain and temperature sensors are close to line of sight, about 30 feet from the base and transmitting through one wall. The wind and UV sensors are not even close to line of sight and they are both 60 to 70 feet from the base transmitting through walls, ceiling and roof. The barometric pressure agrees with a Davis unit 1/2 mile away. The indoor and outdoor sensors were only one tenth of one degree Fahrenheit different when they were placed side by side prior to installation. The wind direction is accurate and the speed seems reasonable, but I don't have an anemometer to compare it to. The base unit is next to a Dect 6.0 wireless phone, close to a 2.4 ghz wireless phone, next to a cell phone with Bluetooth gateway, next to where I most use my 3G/wifi Kindle, within three feet of my laptop and between my laptop and my DSL router. There are no communication problems. I really believe that some of the negative reviews are a result of people not following or comprehending the instructions.Read more ›
