I wanted to say as a huge Ronnie fan, this album was very underrated. I think the songs are good, although he will never eclipse the raw energy and take-no-prisoners approach he took on the very first MONTROSE album. In fact, with the notable exception of "I got the Fire" from Paper Money, this is my favorite Montrose record with vocals - before GAMMA at least. Sorry to dissapoint and outrage all the Sammy Hagar fans! :) For those of you with good ears and care about the recording/mix quality, this record sounds very transparent and punchy. NOT over-compressed like Whitesnake in 1987, for example. I have this on cassette tape and I was lucky enough to get it for about $5.00 at Streetlight Records in San Jose before people new what it was worth! All I tell you is that, yes, it isn't "MONTROSE I" (Ronnie's equivalent to Springsteen's Born to Run...) but if you're a Montrose fan on any level, you will enjoy this record. I don't know if I'd pay $50 for it, because quite frankly, as good as it is, it will eventually be re-released on CD anyway. If you really are an audiophile and have the right gear, I'd suggest buying the Record, then just recording it on CD. That way you have your own "good copy" that won't wear out like cassette will. As a Postscript, you MUST take out your wallet IMMEDIATELY and and buy GAMMA 2!!! Ronnie's best assembled musicians of all time on record, and the song-writing quality and energy will leave you in ruins the floor! Peace. -Dave

I like Ronnie Montrose and I like this album. Ronnie is a American Guitar virtuoso and his musical history is a delight to follow. I love the fact that he was part of Van Morrison's band and played on Tupelo Honey and not long after that was part of the Edgar Winter Group, and he still was performing on stage with Sammy Hagar in 2004. This album is very enjoyable to listen to. You will hear some great guitar, some great songs and some riffs that you will recognize from some of the many bands that Ronnie was involved with.

I bought this when it came out. I liked it a little bit, but not enough to keep it. I ended up trading it off at CD Warehouse a few years later. Now that I see the price of this disc, I regret that decision; however, the regret has everything to do with the current value of this disc, nothing to do with the songs on this disc.

Maybe its my age. Or maybe I never "got" much 80's music. Cutting Crew, Paula Abdul, Culture Club,George Michael,Madonna. But there was the few that ROCKED. And this is one of them.

The product was fine. It arrived fairly quickly unlike another I purchased from you entitled Ronnie Montrose Diva Station. It's been a month and I'm still waiting for it.
