From Booklist
In one of the more unusual "how we got together" stories to come down the pike, Byrd creates a farcical situation that really works. Lincoln is a firefighter whose life is saved by the new guy, Flex, who just moved to Georgia from California. While he is recuperating, Lincoln and Flex get to know a few things about each other, such as the fact that Lincoln is an amateur artist and that Flex has a bunch of nosy sisters, including Peyton, an art agent. Then her contact arranges for Peyton to meet Lincoln, a new artist, in New York. They hit it off so well, they decide to begin a long-distance relationship. Flex doesn't know that Lincoln is dating Peyton. Lincoln doesn't know that Flex is gay. Flex's family thinks he has a new boyfriend, and they all end up in California for a wedding where misconceptions collide. What follows is a finely written, hilarious series of encounters that add up to one entertaining book. Maria Hatton
