A great country voice,
This review is from: Measure of a Man (Audio CD)
Kevin Sharp is a true survivor and an inspiration to all those battling cancer. His cover of Tony Rich's "Nobody Knows" is really good with a touch of country. He has a good country sound, and the songs on this cd range from ballads to up-tempo numbers. I recommend this album to anyone who enjoy country artists like Colin Raye or John Michael Montgomery. One of the highlights on this album is the gorgeous romantic ballad "There's only you".

This is a very good album. All of the songs are listenable. Mr. Sharp's voice is clear and smooth and fits the very country sound of this album perfectly. The standout tracks (all are great) are Measure of a Man, Nobody Knows (better than the original), If You Love Somebody. For Rebecca, the song 'Nobody Knows' was done first the 'The Tony Rich Project' on the album 'Words', from 1996.

Can't ask for a much better debut album,

Most country artists have a good debut album ready when they start their country singing career, but Kevin Sharp was more than ready with this album. More than half of the songs are hits and rightfully so. With the exception of "Population 4000 Minus 1" and "Love Bomb," all the songs are great love songs. There's not a single bad song on this album. "She's Sure Taking It Well" is one of the best songs I've ever heard and many of the other songs aren't far behind. To make it short, if you like country music, you probably won't go wrong buying this album. I listen to this cd more than just about all my other country cd's. What makes Kevin Sharp stand out from most of the other country singers is that he knows how to put emotion into his songs and does a good job of it. Can't wait to see some more albums by Kevin in the future.

Very Good Distinctive Music,

This album has lots of gems on it. Take "Nobody Knows", it was a number one hit for Kevin that was also a pop song sang by somebody else but Kevin's version is better. My personal favorite is "She's Sure Taking It Well" which has a "California" sound to it. The album is not without its problems however, there are a few filler songs such as "Love Bomb" and "Population 4000 minus 1". But an excellent closing song, "Love At The End Of The Road" more than forgives the few bad spots. This album is definitely worth the money. Distinctive voices only come once in a great while
