4.0 out of 5 stars A MUST read book for Practicing Engineers

This review is from: Measuring Process Capability: Techniques and Calculations for Quality and Manufacturing Engineers (Hardcover)
This book significantly bridges the gap between the knowledge of Process Capability Study and the actual practical situations. The book is written in such a way that is easy for any working adult to gain quick insight to this important topic without much of the mathematical burden. It is extremely rewarding to use it as a working guide as well as reference to more difficult topics in real situations. I recommend this book to all Engineering undergrads in particular.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Cookbook for SPC Practitioner, June 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Measuring Process Capability: Techniques and Calculations for Quality and Manufacturing Engineers (Hardcover)
I think this quite a cookbook for any SPC practitioner. It helps me to handle the daily problems that I may encounter; I can take less effort. However, this book is quite difficult for beginners in SPC. I highly recommend quality and process related engineers to buy one for resolving their problems.

I'm quite impress with the amount of information that I have at my finger tips. I'm ordering 5 more and have introduced the book at one of my manufacturing sites and it is a must read for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Measuring Process Capability - Excellent, January 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Measuring Process Capability: Techniques and Calculations for Quality and Manufacturing Engineers (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book that clearly illustrates how to analyze a process and come out with a meaningful answer on it's capability. The author takes a subject that is normally given a chapter or less in most statistics books and expands it to solve all types of real world problems with easy to understand examples. We have purchased a number of these books for work and it has become manadatory reading for new Quality Engineers. All Quality Managers should have this book in their library to bridge the gap from theory to reality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond Normal Capability, March 9, 2007

This is the end all / be all to capability analysis. I don't care what the other reviewers have written. This book addresses every type of capability type analysis in detail. Normal, Non-Normal, Attribute, etc. The author addresses various capability indices. Every chapter has multiple pages that have specific examples that demonstrate clearly these capability examples for various manufacturing(mainly) and non-manufacturing industries. I use this text to base my teaching / workshop classes on and it is great!

The prerequisite is that you have some SPC background, real world, why else would you read this!

This should be on every process / quality / design / product engineer's library!

Thanks Mr. Bothe!
