Because this film has nothing to do with the original "Meatballs", many people write it off as terrible. Actually its kinda bad, but thats half of the charm. The rest comes from the fact it is so fun and stupid. Just like "Caddyshack 2", this is a really strange, kitschy 80s comedy that couldn't get Bill Murray back.

The humor comes mostly from improbable and absurd stuff happening at camp. A Jewish alien asks "Did somebody fart?" and later gets high. The great actor John Laroquette plays a homosexual version of his character from "Stripes". Paul "Pee Wee Herman" Reubens is a sort of replacement for Bill Murray because he's a weird adult who works at the camp and wears Hawaiian shirts and goofy headgear. But he doesn't steal the show like Bill Murray did. He's not as funny either.

No one in this film has the realistic charm of the original kids or counselors. But Richard Mulligan is a cool head of the camp and there's funny moments throughout. Also, the girls here make for better eye candy.

Apparently 7 minutes worth of deleted scenes exist full of nudity and sex. If this film had that and its original non-"Meatballs" title, this film would have become a cult classic.

Okay, Sandy kellerman doing this fantastic New York 30's Dame job, Dempsey at his mugging heartfelt best and this weird mix of idiotic, Really Idiotic sex gags a la the first two meatballs, and this kind of amazing sensibility of 80's Feel Good Message and Bad Jokes. Dempsey is a pretty brilliant comic actor, and this movie has great kitsch quality. Granted I watched the first half on mute as i was talking to my girlfriend on Skype and then the second half with the sound on. the bikers just left their Initiation Ceremony (weird beaver hats and high pitched chanting) on Water Harleys. the Bikers Woman (the Love Goddess) never leaves her tower because (I just discovered) she's studying for her doctorate in Sociology. The insane scenes with kellerman and Al Waxman are totally loony. GO EIGHTIES!!!!!! I also recognize a bunch of later Semi Famous people in it! Its kind of like Really Old Episodes of Friends, the humor is idiotic, but there's a certain comfort involved. ENJOY!

meatballs 2 is a very funny movie.i found it funnier than the first.it is a movie the whole family can enjoy.(well,most of it)i recently saw the 3rd which was very bad.if u want a funny movie,go rent meatballs 2!!!
Rated PG for language,sex-realted dialogue,and brief drug use

This was a great movie and I would tell anyone who is in for a good laugh to buy this movie, because it is sure to keep you laughing!! Its a GREAT movie!!

I have MEATBALLS II on LASERDISC,'nd I am waitin to get it on DVD too,,one of my Favorite Comedies ever :P

The Diolage and the crude jokes. I don't even recomend it for adults. This Movie is very bad. Please don't see it.

I thought that this movie was hilarious. It stars Patrick Dempsey as Rudy. He has this lust to lose his virginity during the summer and everyone knows it. He gets asked by Tripper to work at Camp North Star. But, when he gets there, he notices some changes. Tripper has sold North Star to Mean Gene (George Buza) and he has this woman who stays with him that everyone calls "The Love Goddess" (Shannon Tweed). And while at North Star, Rudy watches porn movies of his favorite porn actress Roxy Dejour (Sally Kellerman). She dies during the making of one of her love scenes, and goes to Hollywood heaven. Once she gets there, they don't let her in until she does a good deed for someone on earth. She choose Rudy as her assignment. And one of her assignments for him is to get him laid. Once that is done, she earns her wings into heaven. Rudy falls for a girl named Wendy...and once all that falls into place, then Roxy is in. Every guy at North Star wants to get their hands on the Love Goddess and when it gets back to Mean Gene, he goes and throws them out the roof. It's pretty weird, but it has it's poor laughs. The special effects of where Roxy uses her angelic magic to help Rudy out is even more funny. I sure hope that this will become a DVD someday cause I sure want to buy it. If not alone maybe if it becomes a DOUBLE FEATURE DVD with Meatball part II.

This is a very funny comedy about a deceased porn Queen named Roxy Dujour who has to perform ONE GOOD DEED to enter Heaven. So her assignment is to transform a Major League Geek in to a "Hunk" which I think is the correct tern used by girls these days. What I want to know is that how come Monica from "Touched By An Angel" never got a fun assignment like this?A highlight of this movie is the Wet Tee Shirt Contest where entrants are judged soley on their "Bodacious TaTas!!!" That makes sense to me. And for those of you who are wondering when a 45 year old man like me will ever stop watching good Teenage Sex Comedies the answer is "Never".This movie is crude, vulgar and also very offensive which means that it is very funny!!!

this is one of the worst movies of the 80's and maybe of all time. not one laugh,chuckle,or even smile to be had in this waste of time film and of your life. 90 mins. you'll never get back.the pits, no stars for this mess

This movie has absolutely nothing to do with the first Meatballs. It was so awful. What was with the alien anyway? My advice? Skip it!!!
