Editorial Reviews

Review

There are. . .attractive features of this book: the style is lucid; the drawings are well-annotated; the calculations are disaggregated enough to permit the reader to follow them with little effort; some aspects are discussed, especially the issue of product liability, that are infrequently covered in engineering design literature, in general, and texts, in particular; and its three appendices are useful, notably the one on frequently-asked questions and answers about fasteners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mechanical fastening, joining, and assembly, March 25, 2000

This review is from: Mechanical Fastening, Joining, and Assembly (Metal Ions in Biological Systems) (Hardcover)
Reference material of industrial fasteners for engineers is very limited and dated. I refer to this book often as it sits on my desk. Mechanical fastening covers the fastening industry from the standard to the newest applications. This book should be a required text book for any college student in the college of engineering. The Author Jim Speck is one of the leading fastener engineers in America today.
