I'm a former USAF F-15 Crew Chief and found these worked okay on the jet, giving me security when reaching inside the various doors and panels and not getting burnt or scratched up, but for doing work on my bike as well as using them as protective gloves as riding they're far from ideal. I often have to take a glove off to do something simple.
They fit a little loose on me (finger lengths a bit too long) and aren't ugly, but they are bulky and they can't do micro adjustments and have difficulty doing stuff such as handling small objects such as washers, nuts, and pins. I have to take them off to go into pockets since the backing likes to catch on everything. They can't deal with the buttons on my Sansa e260 MP3 player and even have trouble putting the earbuds in. These are a bit overprotective in the wrong areas for almost all occupations. A lumberjack that has to do a lot with brush and branches could possibly make use of these if they didn't catch. A firefighter too maybe for at least a few of their tasks, not full-time. A carpenter prone to smashing their fingertips with a hammer... oh wait, there's not much protection there. As a Crew Chief, I went a long time just using the blue/purple Nitril medical exam gloves and a rag for most things, like handling HAZMAT. I could've easily went the rest of my enlistment without them. The original Mechanix gloves are superior in every way except for protection. When you need protection for something like heat, you'd grab extra anyways, like a rag.

Great glove for military use. I'm in Iraq and am using them on operations in combat environments. Not too thick to where you can't feel through the tips, but durable enough to change a hot barrel. Recommend to everyone in the military.

These gloves are everything I wanted, especially for the price. I use them when I go shooting and they feel great. I am almost tempted to get another pair for work. I don't want to ruin the pair I have.

Great price, attractive design, medium quality,

After having used these gloves intensely for rope climbing, working out and as regular utility gloves during 3 month the plastic on one of the finger peeled off. Don't make me wrong these gloves are great especially for the price but they have unnecessary features part of the design. The plastic on the knuckles is suppose to be a protective reinforcement and really does work but it continues on the fingers which ultimately will worn off.
On a tactical point of view these gloves are great, I have small/medium hands and the small size fits perfectly. Trigger's finger is made out of a leathery material which increase flexibility for triggering multiple times in a row. I do recommend this product especially if you are on a budget and looking for heavy duty gloves ( really great for rope climbing, fully protects against rope friction/burns). The wrist wrap band is also starting to worn out but as I said I REALLY abused these gloves. I'm planning on buying a new pair soon!

I bought these gloves for protecting my hands for while taking a carbine shooting course. These gloves fit well and leave good dexterity in your fingers while protecting the hands adequately.

The glove has good fit and finish and wears well. The only problem I have is the finger tip on the index finge has worn through. I only used these gloves for about a month and half. I will buy another pair.

My Official Glove,

As a military aviation mechanic, I keep a set of these at home and at work. The finger dexterity is such that I can manipulate most of what I need too without taking them off. They are also great for the military duties (shooting, etc) as well as yardwork. Also they just look cool. Ever since I started wearing gloves as a rule, I get much less cotter pin and safety wire pokes, and cuts from who knows what. Basically, they protect my hands in style.
Some things that people complain about but should be expected is: 1 Gloves are an expendable item and are not going to last forever (or a long time if you actually use them). 2 No, they are not fire resistant, therefore not rated for a vehicle crewman / aircrew. 3 FR materials do not hold up as well as the materials used to make these gloves. I go through about five sets of flyers gloves a year just wearing them to crew the bird. They are also expensive. Like a previous reviewer said, if you are deploying, take three or four sets. Happy Hunting

PROs:
- Great overall protection for my hands during Airsoft games - Good Design - Awesome padded protections in critical areas CONs: - The color is in khaki and NOT Cayote Brown as advertise!! - Quality of the velcro is not MIL-SPEC in my opinion, doesn't provide a very secure lock. - The same size (8) "Mechanix Original Glove" fits my hands much better compare to this one.

Though not the intended purpose, I got these for a light weight summer motorcycle glove. Fortunately, I haven't crashed to try them out, but they are holding up very well with daily use. They vent pretty well for full finger gloves. The gloves are very flexible for riding gloves (I haven't used them as mechanic's gloves) and I can put on my helmet and buckle it with these gloves on. They work great for what I got them for (so far, so good!).

Mechanix Wear makes great gloves. I've had several pair, and this pair is as good as any of them. I originally purchased these to use as driving gloves for some extreme off-roading. Since that trip, I've been using them while riding my quad, and they are holding up very well. No noticeable wear after many full days of hard use. These gloves are a great example of getting what you pay for. I'll buy em' again, no question.
