These fit perfectly in the large size.

The rubber finger & knuckle guards provide great protection, but are segmented so you can still flex your fingers.

For me, the title says it all--these are awesome gloves. We started using Mechanix Wear gloves in Iraq, because the issue nomex gloves couldn't stand up to the use & abuse we put them through (we were convoy escort, so we were always working on our vehicles & 50 cals). At that time, Mechanix Wear geared their gloves to the civilian market, so we had to buy the black gloves, and use sharpie marker to color in the white logos. Still, we had to hide the gloves from the Sergeants-Major, who would go into convulsions if they saw us using non-issue gloves...Anyhow, most of us brought our Mechanix gloves home at the end of our tour, because they were still in good shape. Now that the company is producing a more 'tactical' style glove, I bought a pair, and love them as much as the originals (plus the new ones don't smell like Iraq).

A few points about the Mechanix Wear M-Pact gloves:

* Love the coyote brown tan color; works just as well with civilian clothes as with a military uniform.

* The rubber finger & knuckle guards provide great protection, but are segmented so you can still flex your fingers.

* The black rubber on the palms and fingers is 'grippy,' I can put away & take my car keys out of my pants pocket without taking off the gloves. The same feature helps with magazine changes, as well as working in the garage with tools.

* The logo is also coyote tan, so it blends in with the glove...No need for a sharpie marker.

* The price point is fantastic; I can get a pair for the garage, and one each for my hiking kit and for each car trunk.

I'm a lube/tire tech and when I got these gloves, they fit perfect and I was able to do finer things like change valve cores. After only 3 weeks, they had broken in enough to where they stretched out and I couldn't grab little things anymore. After a month, the seams were ripping, the actual words "Mechanix" were peeling off and the fingers were splitting open. These gloves are great for weekend warriors, tacti-cool guys who do what they call "run-n-gunning" and someone who works on their car 5 or 6 times a year. For someone who uses them every day, stay away; they're a huge let-down.

I have been wearing the Mechanix Wear M-Pact gloves for around 2 or 3 years for use twice weekly for home maintenance and yard work. Whether you are stacking bricks or using your hands as a shovel to plant a tree, the Mechanix is what you want protecting your hands. The glove is somewhat water-resistant and does not let dirt through even after hours of yard work and planting. The plastic reinforcements on the fingers and knuckles are awesome and indeed protect your hands from knocks and blows that may otherwise injure or slow you down. The glove grips well when climbing trees or ladders and is the best for handling heavy string trimmers, chain saws, blowers, etc.

The gel cushioning works well and is actually my primary plus inb reviewing this glove, as I originally got it for handling tools that have much vibration, such as a recoprocating saw, sander, drilling into concrete block, etc. The Mechanix glove is the difference between feeling fine after the job or having numb hands for 3 days.

I toss them in the washing machine when I am done and they clean up, ready to be air-dried. Other brands eventually fray, wear and come apart, but the Mechanix Wear M-Pact is still fully intact on each seam. After watching my wife's hands get beat-up doing home landscaping chores, I ordered her a pair, and they much better than the pansy pink flowered ones you get at any home supply store. These are meant for misusing over and over again.

Great gloves! The fit and feel is outstanding. Offers protection and padding in all of the right spots, including the palm of the hand. For half the price of the majority of tactical gloves these are a great option. Will be putting them through some punishment to see how they do and update my review accordingly.

I really want to like these gloves, but, the index finger on the left glove is longer than the right glove.

At first I thought that maybe my right index finger is longer than the left so that is why I have this issue. However, after measuring both of my index finger, I am glad to say that is not the case. It is the glove!

First of all, I purchased these gloves to play Airsoft. I saw a video of the 2013 Shot Show that showcased them and and I thought they would be great.

The protection on the top and palm is great. I like the overall performance of them.

Only if both of the index fingers where they same length on both gloves, I would have given 5 stars.

I got these because I have a disease that causes my hands to shake and drop things. With these gloves I can hold on to things better and not have to grip down so hard. I sometimes fall and these have helped me not scrap my knuckles or break a finger. I usually get a large glove and these are a little big on my hand. The mediums were hard to put on, so I went up a size. They are great for heavy use and hand protection. I saved my hands many times with these gloves.
