Product Description

Material 4X: High abrasion Material 4X finger panels outlast leather and can only be found on Mechanix Wear gloves. Flexible Warmth: 3M C-40 Thinsulate insulation encased between interior fleece and exterior nylon makes this glove tough but not bulky. Exposed hands and raw weather just dont mix. For the guy who still needs to work when the mercury drops, weve created our Winter Armor Pro. Featuring our specially designed, high abrasion Material 4X on the thumb and fingertips and an internal, anatomically placed palm padding, this glove allows you to complete tasks that require the dexterity of bare hands without them actually being bare. Fleece-lined with 3M Thinsulate insulation and encased in a water repellent nylon shell, the Winter Armor Pro provides maximum warmth and wind resistance. Additional protective features include an embossed Neoprene thumb panel for flexibility and warmth, full length Thermal Plastic Rubber on the fingers and flexible accordion foam knuckle panel. With this rugged glove in your toolbox, you might actually look forward to the weather turning cold.

The gloves have held up for much longer than the Impact Pro, Fast-Fit utility or the "newer" Commercial Grade Impact Pro. I know that these are cold weather gloves and the others aren't but I'm only referring to the outer palm material. The rest of the glove is well constructed with double stitching along the index finger, fingertips and palm reinforcement pad. They also do a decent job of keeping *dry hands warm,(*not many gloves will keep sweaty hands warm). I wore them on several occasions to blow & shovel snow and they kept my hands comfortable. There are warmer work gloves available but they typically sacrifice dexterity for warmth while these balance the two functions well. They're pretty resistant to moisture, but don't expect that result in a rainstorm. I also have the Wind Resistant Cold Weather Mechanix glove (great glove) for dry, outdoor cold weather conditions. Unlike some of the other Mechanix gloves I've owned, these were worth the money.

They're thicker and warmer than the standard mechanix gloves, but they're still pretty thin on the insulation, especially for the two smaller fingers. Ring and Pinky fingers also have little "scrape and jam" protection as well. My hands have zero tolerance for the cold for some reason, and these gloves kept my hands warm until the temperature dropped below 20F, so they're acceptable for the most of the Winter, I suppose.

I have used mechanix Gloves for years now for a vast number of things. They are of good quality and rugged. These were purchased for riding the motorcycle in the winter Months and have worked out great!

Good buy. Work great. Excellent for the cold winter months here in Michigan. I suggest these four anyone that works outside.

Hands don't stay warm when working outside in cold weather(20 degrees or colder) and it's very hard to write anything with the glove on.

I really like Mechanix gloves, the basic ones that a lot of people have, i personally own in three colors (blue, a tan military looking pair and yellow) so when I came across these at a local Lowes and with winter fast approaching, and saw my size right on top i of course picked one up

I first wore them in the fall, i live in the North East so it starts to get cooler early, and they kept my hands pretty warm when raking up leaves and doing the Christmas lights in the bushed in the yard.

Then we got our first snow storm about a month ago and i put them on with all my winter gear and these gloves on, and hopped on the quad to go and plow the driveway. After 10 minuets my hands were freezing.

Now what i think it is is because, im a pretty skinny kid and my hands don't have a lot of "meat" to them, i say that because my dad, who is a bigger guy, wears them and sings their praises. So if you have bigger thicker hands than these are defiantly for you, if you are a skinny guy than you might want to have a backup

Overall I'm very pleased with these gloves. They are very comfortable and keep my hands relatively warm while leaving me very good dexterity in my hands when landscaping. They aren't the warmest gloves out there, but I was aware of that when purchasing them. I've used them in temps in the 20's (8 hrs) and my hands were still warm. They have convenient pull tabs to ease putting them on. A few minor complaints. Wish they were waterproof. The Velcro closure isn't the most secure, sometimes have to reclose them while working, but not a big deal. Most panels are double stitched, but some areas aren't (my gloves are holding up perfectly), but I think all areas should be double stitched.
