Product Description

Mechanix Wear Winter Armor Gloves beat back wind and water to keep your hands from exposure to the elements! Cold hands make it difficult to concentrate on just about anything else. Don't let harsh temperatures compromise your focus. With its full nylon shell, wind resistant lining and water resistant rubberized palm, the Winter Armor glove provides protection against the elements so that you can get the job done. The VELCRO brand closure allows for easy use with heavier winter jackets and prevents cold air, wind and snow from sneaking in between glove and sleeve. A dual layer rubberized panel in high wear areas and EVA foam accordion knuckle protection give the Winter Armor glove an industrial strength that other winter work gloves just can't compete with. The gloves have held up for much longer than the Impact Pro, Fast-Fit utility or the "newer" Commercial Grade Impact Pro. I know that these are cold weather gloves and the others aren't but I'm only referring to the outer palm material. The rest of the glove is well constructed with double stitching along the index finger, fingertips and palm reinforcement pad. They also do a decent job of keeping *dry hands warm,(*not many gloves will keep sweaty hands warm). I wore them on several occasions to blow & shovel snow and they kept my hands comfortable. There are warmer work gloves available but they typically sacrifice dexterity for warmth while these balance the two functions well. They're pretty resistant to moisture, but don't expect that result in a rainstorm. I also have the Wind Resistant Cold Weather Mechanix glove (great glove) for dry, outdoor cold weather conditions. Unlike some of the other Mechanix gloves I've owned, these were worth the money.

They're thicker and warmer than the standard mechanix gloves, but they're still pretty thin on the insulation, especially for the two smaller fingers. Ring and Pinky fingers also have little "scrape and jam" protection as well. My hands have zero tolerance for the cold for some reason, and these gloves kept my hands warm until the temperature dropped below 20F, so they're acceptable for the most of the Winter, I suppose.

Good for moderately cold weather. Typically I ware these in 20-40 degrees while working outside. So far I have worn these in rain, snow, sleet and cold windy days, and my hands were worm as long as I was doing something. They do not keep your hands worm if you are NOT active; if you’re not standing around they’re pretty good. Before buying check your hand size using the sizing chart on the mechanix website, the chart and gloves are is pretty true to size.

I really like Mechanix gloves, the basic ones that a lot of people have, i personally own in three colors (blue, a tan military looking pair and yellow) so when I came across these at a local Lowes and with winter fast approaching, and saw my size right on top i of course picked one up

I first wore them in the fall, i live in the North East so it starts to get cooler early, and they kept my hands pretty warm when raking up leaves and doing the Christmas lights in the bushed in the yard.

Then we got our first snow storm about a month ago and i put them on with all my winter gear and these gloves on, and hopped on the quad to go and plow the driveway. After 10 minuets my hands were freezing.

Now what i think it is is because, im a pretty skinny kid and my hands don't have a lot of "meat" to them, i say that because my dad, who is a bigger guy, wears them and sings their praises. So if you have bigger thicker hands than these are defiantly for you, if you are a skinny guy than you might want to have a backup
