I bought these as I have a old injury to my knee. They are well made, but they arent the most padded ones out there in the knee area. Even still I can go long periods doing low electrical work in them with out adjusting them to "the sweet spot". Really the pad on these is so large, unlike the clunky gel cushioned I used to have, that twisting or new positions doesnt require constant fiddling for comfort. I spend more time doing my job then thinking about my knee pads. Behind the knee is basically open to prevent bunching/pressure so that is nice.the large pad allows you to install them high and they will settle into the perfect spot and stay there the rest of your work shift. Mine have a flexible kevlar weave instead of the plastic cap so I can kneel on conduit and not mar or crush these items while cutting. I use mechanix gloves for years and I am glad I tried these pads as well. A lil more padding would be nice, but i'd recommend them for the folks who are up and down alot and dont want to worry about their knee pads. these are about as set and forget a pair as I have tried.

Bought this item to replace a worn out pair of soft knee pads that I had purchased from Lee Valley years ago. I tried a pair of hard shell/cap knee pads but did not like the way they fit and did not like the feel of kneeling on them. My use is mostly for yard work so although the kevlar pad is stiff, it will break in and work well over time and they feel good kneeling in them. Very solid hook & loop so they fit pretty well without binding behind your legs. I am very happy with them!

With the overly-wide straps, these pads hug your legs and stay in place very well, and with all that contact area they don't have to be strapped on so tight that they cut off circulation. The kevlar outer friction area will hold up well to anything they may have to contact. By the way, that area is a woven gray kevlar knit, and not a black shiny surface as shown in the Amazon photo. These pads were designed for Nascar crews, young athletic types who slide quickly on blacktop on their knees. I'm sure they would rate a 5 out of 5 in that setting.Me, I'm a non-athletic type of 61 years who has old knees that don't like the weight that is applied to them when I get on all fours. They want SOFT and DEEP padding that these pads do not even begin to provide. This padding is about 1/2 inch deep, and is firm. If you have old damaged knees, they will not appreciate your attempting to crawl with these pads. It's too bad, because it is rare to come across a set of pads with the build quality found in these.

I purchased these knee pads last year as a Christmas present for my then 81 year-old father who has literally spent his entire life on his knees at hard labor on our/his property. Amazingly, he's now 82, does the same hard work capable of any strapping 18 year old, and he ain't slowing down. Thus the purchase; I couldn't stand to watch him continue to pound his poor knees at his age. I have *never* seen this man protect his knees from hard-packed dirt, concrete, lawn, ditches, rocks, black-top or any other surface. He has told me that in his lifetime he's tried many different types of kneepads but I've never seen him in them. So, anyway, I did my research and happened upon these. Turns out, I hit the mother-load. He faithfully wears them for a number of very good reasons: 1. he reports that once on, he doesn't even know they're 'there.' That's good, because, like I said, he acts like a teenager when tackling out-of-doors projects. 2. He reports that they DO NOT SLIP. I can only imagine how important this would be. 3. They WORK. Perfectly designed, they are forgiving, rugged work-horses. They perform better than the Manufacturer's Product Description. Given my experience with my dad's demanding routine and my own expectations for good, comfortable, sturdy protection, these are a grand-slam. Buy them. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!

Hubby is a jet mechanice and is constantly up and down on his knees. These are BIG cushiony comfort. Great quality and easy to put on and take off.

These Team Issue kneepads are so much more comfortable than the gel filled type. The pad also extends above and below the knee to a greater extent. The extra coverage keep dirt from falling in behind the pad. I would definitely recommend to others.

These knee pads don't roll when you are leaning to the side as with most pads. I was very happy and would buy another pair
