Customer Reviews

The real deal works great and very well made.
Dave Fletcher
These gloves are comfortable, allow for tremendous dexterity, and provide more than adequate protection in a wide variety of tasks.
Kivalo
The top of the hand and the palm of the hand are well padded but the fabric between the fingers are not protective at all.

These gloves are at home either in the garage or out in a DZ / LZ. Good snug fit, easily adjustable, and sewn together to last (nice tactical color, as well). Outstanding military gloves that provide excellent impact, vibration, and abrasion protection. NOT for jobs that will require high levels of dexterity, water resistance, or for cold, chemical, flame, or cut protection. In all, a good all-around "field" glove. Semper Fi!

I have owned a few different brands of the "Mechanics Gloves" . The Mechanix Wear M-Pact 2 model is by far the best pair I've used . They beat the Iron Clad and Craftsmen gloves by a long shot . The extra protection on the back (knuckle and back hand) is why I prefer these gloves . When a wrench slips off and you bang the back of your hand , you're protected from cuts and bruises . The heat resistance is nice also . I work in one of the busiest Sports arenas in the USA , these gloves last me about 1-1/2 years of serious abuse . Worth every penny at $29.99 a pair .

I've had these gloves for about a year now and I use them for everything. I have two sets of Mechanix gloves and they both suffer from the same problem after continuous use. Basically I the stitching on the fingers falls apart and my index fingers end up being exposed. Maybe I'll try something different this time around.

I am not a mechanic on the Alaskan pipeline, swat team member or special forces... But, these gloves can easily go through hell and back. I just wrapped up an outdoor project with 20 degree, snowy conditions where I had to bang my hands around. These gloves were incredible - warm, protective and grippy with no extra material to lose dexterity. I am a fan!

I use these gloves for just about every kind of work. Moving furniture, yard work, and construction projects. I haven't found a glove that compares to this one yet. The Mpact2 stands alone.

I work at a big box home improvement store. I am part of a team involved with moving a lot of merchandise to ensure that it's available for customers to purchase. I carry small items and even large ones, like pre-hung doors(hollow core, I won't dead lift, solid core). So I need a pair of gloves to protect my hands. I have normally bought CLC gloves, the 10$ ones. I have always worn through the index and middle finger tips on both gloves. Aside from these Mechanix gloves looking cool, they have a lot of padding to protect your hands. Sometimes when sifting through doors in an overhead, a door can pinch your hand ,but at least the padding that this glove has, softened that impact. The gloves aren't too clunky. I could tie my shoe if I needed too and even duplicate keys with them on.

I've had this pair for 2 1/2 months now and they are now trashed(I will post an image or two). I wear my gloves for more than 4 hours a day, I am part time, but some days are full shifts. I'm rough with gloves. After a month, I started to notice tears in a couple fingertips. On the thumb finger and index finger there is a rubberized protection going around the fingertip that prevented tearing on those tips. I wish they had this material on all fingers. I didn't want these gloves to show that wear so early, so I decided to stitch them up. Well new holes developed elsewhere, so I stitched them again. After that, they just started degrading in other places at a rapid rate. The top of the gloves survived fine. The rubber piece running the length on the top of your fingers didn't detach or the stitching between the padding didn't undo.

These gloves would also get hot so my hands would sweat. I would take them home to air out and not just sit in the locker.

Let me start by saying I am a fan of Mechanix Wear gloves in general. I've work many different kinds of these gloves for work and recreation. These are probably the most comfortable gloves I've worn for work (oilfield), but they aren't the most durable.

I'll base this review on work gloves since that's when I wore them. So far, I've tried different gloves with knuckle protection like the Mpact ORHD , Ironclad KONG and Ringers Roughneck. The M-Pact II are hands down the most comfortable.

One thing to note is that I wear an XL in the regular Mechanix gloves. I usually wear a large when it comes to the type with knuckle protection. With the M-Pact II I had to wear a medium. They still fit, but that also might be why the stitching blew out.

What I liked:

Comfort - They're the most comfortable. There is a layer of padding on the palm that isn't too thick.

Grip - The grip seems to hold up even when you get oil on them. The grip also isn't stiff like the ORHD.

Dexterity - I found myself keeping these on even when I was tightening and loosening bolts. I can't say that with the other gloves.

Re-usability - I was able to wash these and use them again. They didn't get stiff after going through the wash either.

What I didn't like:

Stitching - The stitching went out on me on one of the pinky fingers. This happened in less than a week of use.
