"You all can thank me for single-handedly winning WWII". Not really, but you feel as if you have a right to say that after beating this game. Realtime graphics, hypnotically beatiful and detailed levels, entrancing gameplay, and the greatest story line of all time. This game isn't like other war games, you know your usual "assasinate Hitler.. plain old shooting Nazis", no, you get dropped in on world war two, starting in a cinematic event of your boat approaching Omaha Beach and hearing the captain yelling "ten seconds!" You are a soldier, doing your part in WWII, no some corny secret agent gathering infromation, (although you do get sent on solo missions). Anything is for use, enemies weapons, abandoned machine gun turrets, even a U-Boat deck gun! My review is, in my humble opinion, very credible, seeing as how I have played this game many a-time. If your looking for a highly intriguing miniature disc to put into your sleek gamecube that helps you escape from your world and plunge into another, Frontline is it!

While it may be a port of the original game, released on the PS2, the Gamecube edition of "Medal of Honor: Frontline" is one of the best First Person Shooters ever to be pressed on the small disk.

The highly enjoyable story starts out on the beaches of Normandy after your group lands on D-Day. And includes one of the more moving quotes I've seen to begin a game:

"And when he gets to Heaven To Saint Peter he will tell: One more soldier reporting, Sir -- I've served my time in Hell"

Truly one of the best battle sequences ever produced on the cube and its only the first level! Jimmy (the main character, whom you play the entire game as) is moving further and further into Nazi-occupied France and Germany. His missions include freeing spies, helping in street to street combat, and even taking out one of the leaders while the allies are bombing a facility. Parts of the game seemed a little too James Bond-esqe (1 man against an entire building of battle-harded soldiers), but I quickly forgot about that aspect as a machine gun nest would pelt me with bullets.

The graphics and sound are amazing. The Gamecube excels in making things 'look pretty' and it certainly did its job here. The replay factor here is high, and not just because you die on missions. I found myself going back and trying missions over again to get a better time, get the guy who kept sniping me from 2 rooms away, etc.

The controls did take some time to get used to. I prefer the MOH Sharpshoter because of its use of the C-Stick, though the two thumbed approach did cause more than a few headaches. Once I finally got that part down, I was able to go through levels much quicker than before. And while there is no 'auto-aim', it seems that it would cheapen a game like this where you're being pinned down by a few snipers, someone in a gun-nest, or even just a few feet away. I think the right call was made by not having an auto-aim feature.

While not always believeable, I highly suggest this game to owners of Gamecubes that are noticing a lack of FPS games for the console, and want to have a challenge.

Yeah, WWII, it happened, I slept through that in class. Medal of Honor: Frontline throws you right into the middle of the choas that is WWII. Most games start you off with a nice easy calm mission, not Frontline, you are thrown right into the middle of the Omaha Beach landing (D-Day), I mean the game starts when your landing craft is hit by an artillary shell! One thing I do have to say before I continue though, it's not a game for younger kids, even though there is no blood on the beach you watch helplessly as groups of Americans and other Allies are mowed down by artillary, machine guns and eventually killed by mines.

Anyway, this game has a very tough single player, I still havn't beaten it. The only down side is that we Gamecube owners had to wait so long so they could add a multiplayer, more about that later. The graphics are not the best in the world, but they don't need to be, they convey they choas or the urgency of a situation, you can see facial expressions, and the lips move when they are talking, more than I can say about other first person shooters. The controls are fairly simple, however it makes it difficult to switch between other first person shooters without a little time to get back to other controls. I also own Timesplitters 2 and in that the look stick is inverted (back is look up) while in Medal of Honor it is not, after playing MOH for a while I went back TS2, I was getting kicked around like there was no tommarrow.

Now onto the Multiplayer that we waited so long for. In my opinion it is an average setup at best, there is very little customization, there are 17 pre-set weapon sets, you can't customize, and you start with all the weapons in the set, you can't make it so you start unarmed, and the maps are small so there is very little time to get ready for a battle, you move a little your opponent is on top of you. Also, I'm not sure but I don't think that you can add bots to the mix.

In conclusion, this is a great game, it has one of the best single players I have seen since Perfect Dark. However, don't buy it just for the multiplayer, if you are looking for a great multiplayer first person shooter, I recommend Timesplitters 2 or one of the Bond games.

Now, don't get me wrong. The Medal of Honor series is better than most games out there, and amongst the better FPS. Since EA took over 007, the games have been less than good, and we all know that. The first Medal of Honor game for the PlayStation was a pretty decent effort, and one of my favorites on the system. And though we are offered a bit more now, it's pretty much the same as the original: kill the Nazis, run around and accomplish your mission.

Here I will list the pros and cons of this game and rate it at the end:

The Pros:
1.) The graphics are nice, though a bit grainy as you draw nearer to things. The guns and the people look amazing, and there is more realism involved, especially in the first level.
2.) And speaking of that first level, it's amazing and captivatng and everything you want in a video game. It's by far a great beginning to the game.
3.) The sounds are great and the music even better. It's haunting and frightening and sets the tone for the entire game.
4.) Overall the levels are exciting and sometimes a bit difficult. They vary as well, and having other soldiers with you from time to time takes away the feeling from the previous games that you are the only person fighting in the war.

The Cons:
1.) If you are stuck in a level, you can press right on the control pad and it will tell you what to do next. Now, you don't have to use it, but it's tempting all the same.
2.) Though the graphics look nice, they are not up to the standards of other games on the GameCube. It truly does look like a port from PS2...which it is, so we must deal with it.
3.) One of my biggest complaints with the first game was the feeling of claustrophobia. I always felt like I was trapped. After the first level, I thought they had changed that, but I found much the same thereafter...why am I mostly in buildings or other small areas outside? Other than a few select levels, I'm either in buildings or on trains or places where I feel as if the walls are pushing against me...which they are, of course.
4.) The enemy AI, which was so great in the first games, seems, well, dumber now. The Germans sometimes throw grenades that bounce of walls and back at themselves. Normally they would run away or kick them aside. Here they just keep shooting. Rarely do they pick them up. Never have I seen them kick them away. Maybe it's just me.
5.) Multi-player...it's terrible...again.

Overall, Medal of Honor: Frontline is a good game, and one of the better action games on the market today. Hopefully future releases will be tweaked a bit more. Better graphics, better AI and more exciting levels that don't feel the same as the one that preceeds it would make this a killer game. Also, it wouldn't hurt them to make the multi-player levels as large as the levels in the game. This, with a bit of work, could really make people say, "GoldenEye? What about it?"

4 stars. It's worth the money, but it could be so much better. I don't regret buying it though. It's still fun with some of the problems.

Having never seen Medal of Honor played on anything other than a PC I was skeptical about picking this game up. I did however and now I'm glad that I did.

In Medal of Honor Frontline you are Private Jimmy Patterson. It is your job to go through 20 missions on 6 levels to help stop the Nazi war machine.

The game is made by Electronic Arts and looks to be built on the same engine as there other first person shooter games. The company is known for making the James Bond games and this really is James Bond meets Saving Private Ryan. The gameplay is pretty clear and crisp. The controls are different from any other first person shooter I've played on this system and that took some getting use to. I've got it down pat now and I like the challenge that it offers to you.

Unlike the Bond games the auto-aim function isn't here on Medal of Honor. You have to do all of the aiming yourself on those Nazi soldiers. It makes the game a little frusterating at first with the different control set up, but once you get use to it I think you'll like it.

I was a little saddened with the Multi Player features on the game. All you can do is hook up and play against three other human opponents. There are no options to add any AI Bots which I found to be a little disappointing. I love to hook up with by brothers and fight them and 5-6 AI Bots. That would have been great to do with WWII weapons and maps but they didn't put that option on this game.

I love this game. It's a decent game. I like it better on this system than the PS2 or Xbox. If you really want to experience Medal of Honor though, I'd pick it up for PC.

I've alwasy been interested in WWII. I always watch those boring History Channel shows but for once I'm calling the shots. Medal of Honor: Frontline's strong point is its single-player action, however its multiplayer lacks interest. For those of you that are bond players this is going to be a hard game to start out with. First of all there is no auto-aim, so you do it manually, which kind of sucks but they counter that with the fact that the enemy doesn't squirm around very much. The story line is pretty good but i beat the game in about a week. So expect going back to your favorite level and playing it again. Graphics are exceptionally good and the authanticity is also. This game's weak when it comes to multiplayer, at least my friends didn't like it. There aren't many guns and the contols are hard unless you use them for 3 hours just to get used to them. I'd suggest renting this game but NOT buying. It's way too short

So far, this is the best game I've played on the GameCube. The storyline is great and the play is realistic. The graphics and sound are superb! Some have suggested that this game should offer auto-aim, which might be a nice option to have but I believe it would take away the tension of the moment in the midst of a firefight. In real battle you don't have auto-aim! The solo missions are a bit unbelievable but I think they had to do it this way to keep the intensity level up. I also like the missions where there is cooperation with other soldiers.

I really can't think of any complaints I have with this game... it is an absolute joy to play and find myself being buried in the story. The multi-player is also a lot of fun once you get used to it. Best played as as a two-team, four-player game. The graphics are so good you rarely have to think about where you are or what you're looking at... if you're supposed to be in a kitchen it looks and feels like a kitchen. Also, the sound and music really make a scene come alive. When I play this game I feel like I'm in it. It doesn't make me a member of Easy Company but sometimes I feel like it! (my apologies and thanks to those who DID serve in this war).

Highly recommed buying this game especially if you want to relive some World War II action or love WWII history.

By far, this is one of the best war-games I have played yet! I was quickly fascinated with the first two Medal of Honor games, which were also outstanding. This surpasses both in overall quality, with stellar graphics and savage game-play! In this game, the hero, OSS agent Lt. Patterson, infiltrates a number of Wehrmacht and S.S. facilities to sabotage enemy equipment and weaponry. Eventually he is sent to assasinate an S.S. general and steal the Horton jet-fighter prototype. The action takes place in France, Netherlands, and Germany. Those who developed the concept have done their research! If you think that a one-man mission into enemy territory is theatrical exageration...think again:
-The game features a mission which requires you to cross the Niijmegan bridge to Ahrnem. An 82nd Airborne soldier, Ted Bachenheimer really did infiltrate the enemy-occupied Niijmegan Bridge, and cross it, all by himself! He was a bilingual German-American! On the other side, he met a group of Dutch resistance fighters and led them. Bachenheimer was a veteran of many such solo missions, in Italy.
-Anders Lassen, a Danish volunteer in the British Naval Commandos, was notorious for his ability to infiltrate enemy command centers and eliminate the personnel single-handedly! They called him "the Terrible Viking".
-There are many other such historical characters of similar prowess.
The only criticism of the game, and it is minor, is that the sound-track is a bit cheesy and mellow-dramatic at times (specifically: a really irritating boys' choir), but you can turn off the music. The game graphics are superb!

This was THE most interesting war game I've ever played. It consists of a unique control setup and is very spellbinding.
It can captivate players in a torrent of excitement and "on the edge of your seatness." If you ever hear of something better, just ignore it.

Example: I was exploring Level #2,and I realized ,(for I didn't read the manual),that you can mount machine guns. I love them now.

A drawback: if you mount a machine gun, extra men pop out of nowhere and pan you down.

Overall: I think that the controls were a little unorthadox, but this was the best game on my current console: the Nintendo Gamecube::way better than MOH rising sun. WAY, WAY, WAY better.

Medal of Honor is awesome. It is a world war 2 fps with plenty of guns and a variety missions. You play as Lt. Jimmy Patterson, a character you know nothing about and never see his face (there are no cutscenes), but i guess that is to help you assume the role of the main character. The game starts of with a bang when you are put in the middle of D day, storming the beaches of Normandy. Land mines are exploding, gunshots are everywhere and your frends are dying all around you. This is my favorite level in any game and is pure genius. This level gets you hooked and makes you want to play nonstop. My only complaint with this game is the poor multiplayer, horribe enemy ai, and extremly easy difficulty. Stil, it comes highly reccommended
