Amazing...,

This review is from: Medal of Honor (Seals: The Warrior Breed, Book 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
I, being 16 years old and fasinated by military genre books andsuch, find this book amazing. I've already read Purple Heart, BronzeStar, and Navy Cross. After reading Medal of Honor, the book series was getting better and better. This series is excellent and H. Jay Riker is an excellent writer. I wish I could meet the man behind these great novels. I'm now reading Silver Star (wasn't at the bookstore till recently) and I truely love it. I like the books about the SEALs over the UDT books, but without the UDT, there would be no SEALs. I only hope H. Jay Riker continues to write about SEALs and makes books like these.

The 5th book delivers as much action as the previous 4 do! This book always keeps you on edge living out the adventures of Navy SEALs in Vietnam. I found it very hard to put down, and like all of Riker's other books, I couldn't put it down! I highly recommend this book!

Medal Of Honor takes the cake and cuts it up with a K-bar.,

Powerful. . . H. Jay Riker has acted more than once as the Tom Clancy of the Vietnam War fictional genre. I have watched this field get bigger and bigger, from the Leonard B. Scotts, to the James Watson's, this genre has become more capturing. In Medal Of Honor, as well as the others of the series, Riker does not once let the reader escape the battlefield where the bullets fly, or the wars that go on inside the very characters in the story. From the dark waters of Vietnam to the streets of America, he takes you there, and hits you in the face with a full brunt of firepower. It's edge of your seat and pulls at your heart strings. He plunges you into the mind of the warrior as so few people can, makes you wonder in ways you didn't wonder before. Once again,H. Jay Riker takes the cake in his field. . .

St.Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands E-mail: rwz1948@hotmail.com There is a terrible error on the front cover of MEDAL OF HONOR. The Medal depicted is that of The U.S. Army and not the U.S. Navy !!! Otherwise, I enjoyed the book. Semper Fi, Robert Zerby St.Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands rwz1948@hotmail.com ...

EXCELLENT READ,

This review is from: Medal of Honor (Seals: The Warrior Breed, Book 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was as gripping as any I have ever read. (and I have read quite a few) The journey of Greg Halstead through BUD/S training was especially good, I enjoyed the introduction of a new character. If you have read the other four books in this series, or if you are a newcomer, this one is a MUST HAVE!

This review is from: Medal of Honor (Seals: The Warrior Breed, Book 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
From the life of a young college student and his family and hippie friends to SEAL recruits and the veteran Corpsman, this novel walks - no - runs through a turbulent time in American history, beginning just after Tet '68. College junior Greg Halstead drops out, enlists in the Navy, and runs into his future best friend during BUD/S. Navy Lieutenant Charles "E.C." Baxter leads his platoon through the jungle and then breaks in the "Bananas" back at Coronado- including Halstead and Halstead's swim buddy. Through some incredible spirit in another version of hell come the SEALS, kicking --- and taking numbers cause they're moving too fast to take names! It's a fast paced look at both sides of the story and (from what an "Air Farce" brat like me can tell) is fairly well researched. The guts that the SEALs have running against not just the VC and NVA but also against some of their senior officers are immeasurable. But poor Lucky! Otherwise an excellent book. (I read it over a weekend. Started on Fri. night, finished on Sun. morning) Helluvan epic!

The title of this book implies that the subject matter concerns Navy SEALS. The medal depicted on the cover is NOT the Navy Medal of Honor. The Navy's medal is suspended from its' ribbon by an anchor, and doesn't include the wreath of green.
