Product Description

As seen on TV! Clean it, Plate it, Buff it is just that effortless! We are an authorized dealer of this product! Medallion Brand liquid gold plating system is an easy way to give your dull, scratched, or just plain boring old jewelry a new life. This patented system instantly bonds to base metals, leaving precious and semi-precious stones safe from discoloration. This unique system will bond pure gold onto real gold, white gold, gold plate, silver, silver plate, platinum, rhodium, nickel brass, bronze, and copper. It will NOT work, however, on stainless steel, lead, pewter, tin, aluminum, lacquered or non-metallic surfaces. Using non-compatible metals may contaminate the liquid gold, so if you don't know what metal your jewelry is made of, we recommend not using this system. Some TECHNIBOND and Diamonique items are lacquered, so the lacquer must be completely removed before use. If a gold color does not appear within 15 seconds of immersion, the item may be lacquered. Remove the item immediately from the solution if this occurs. System includes the Following: Complete instructions including FAQS, One 4.25 fl. oz. (125ml) bottle of 24K Gold solution, One 4.25 fl. oz. (125ml) bottle of Gold Polish, One 4.25 fl. oz. (125ml) jar of instant acting Jewelry Cleanser, One jar with dipping basket, Activator disc and buffing cloth.

I had bought a product years ago to gold plate some silver bracelets and necklaces I had. Worked excellently well. Don't remember what it was called. So when I decided to do some silver recently, I tried this product. Doesn't work at all. And apparently it is designed to be used only once so you can only do a few pieces as it turns grey and stops working. Don't bother with this real crap. Couldn't give this a zero rating so the 1 star is really misleading.

Make sure to get all of the foil cover off of the jar before microwaving and do one small piece at a time. You'll need to get some real jewelry polishing cloths (silver tarnish removal cloths) to buff the dull residue off. Cloth provided wont do it. I thought I'd ruined the solid sterling pieces I'd plated! Tried Tarnex but that didn't work. The polishing cloths saved my sanity and did result in the desired effect. Would recommend the product based on these caveats. Vendor is very accommodating.

It did not plate the watch I had. The watch was 8 years old and the plating had worn off. I followed instructions, but plating did not take.

I purchased this product as an experiment, to plate a solid copper linked bracelet I made. (The copper on its own was attractive, but I was not pleased with the blobs of silver solder left on some of the links.) Other finishes I tried (salt and vinegar pickle, boiled egg oxidation) were amusing in a former Girl Scout kind of way, but did not provide a decent uniform finish. I re-burnished and scrubbed the item clean, then used this product according to its directions. After 20 - 30 seconds in the solution it looked mottled and dark. I took it out of the solution and rinsed it, then rubbed it by hand with some baking soda. The bracelet had taken on a consistent golden finish. I liked it, but seeing that it's a bracelet and will get knocked around, I decided to give it another coat. I reheated the solution and repeated the process. The bracelet is now a rich gold with a slightly rosy undertone, as you can see from the photo I posted. (Note that I did not silver plate it first as Medallion recommends.) I plan to incorporate this product further into my jewelry-making. The one thing I am curious about is how many times I will be able to use the solution before the gold is completely depleted. We'll see!

this is the absolute most valuable product i have purchased to date. I had several rings and a necklace that have faded from a gold plate to a silver. After consulting with jewelers, all of them told me an immersion plating system doesn't exist or simply doesn't work. I know for a fact such a system has a place in jewelry manufacturing because I previously worked at Tiffany's. I decided to give this a shot, and for 20 dollars I now have 3 brand new rings and a beautiful necklace. The key ring photo attached to this product is one of my rings.

The entire process took just a few minutes. The kit also comes with an excellent gold polish to use after the plating is complete.

For the people who say this didn't work for them, this is probably due to the fact that their pieces were not silver or gold plated to begin with. Also, the heat of the solution must be 150F otherwise this will not work (I had to reheat the solution in between platings).
Overall, as someone who worked in the jewelry industry, I would say this is an excellent find. I am so glad I saved hundreds of dollars on replating fees. Definitely recommend

I saw some of the bad ratings and decided to take a chance anyway, despite the poor reviews.
The plating solution would not stick to an item that had been previously gold plated. Would not even begin to turn it gold. The product also did not stick to copper. Not even a little. So for that stuff it really just was crappy! I asked for a full refund, and was promptly refunded for the product. No questions asked, with an apology for it not working. They even said keep the stuff and try it out on other things. They told me to watch a YOU TUBE video on how to use the solution. It was the same information that was in the instructions that did not work. So, before I poured it down the drain I tried it on a sterling silver necklace that had been gold plated previously. I actually got good results from the product when applied to silver. It replaced the worn gold plating and made it look new again.
Since it worked on silver, I thought I would try it on a 14kt solid gold necklace that never seemed to keep it's brilliance. It was an expensive gamble but it made the 14kt gold necklace look like new. I have worn the necklace several times, lightly cleaned it with a jewelry cleaning cloth and the necklace still looks great. So for solid gold and solid silver it seems to work very well. For other metals it sucks. If it had worked on the other metals like it did with silver and gold I would have given it 4 stars. But since it doesn't, it only gets 2.

I would have liked to give this product zero stars, but that wasn't an option.I tried this on a nice smokey quartz ring that needed a little "gold plating" help and turned it into a black mess-almost as bad as if I had soaked it in Liver of Sulphur. No amount of polishing with a jewelers cloth has made a bit of difference My ring is ruined-don't ruin your jewelry with this junk.
