great plot,
By
This review is from: The Medallion of Solaus (Paperback)
This book was built on a great plot, especially when it was written in less than 170 pages. It definitely grabbed my attention. It got 5 stars
However, I was not so comfortable with the author's writing style and was disappointed with Kaitlin. For somebody who supposedly was worldly and was an experienced photographer, either suddenly she became really stupid or very naive to do all what she had done throughout the story. This was more of the character of a pretty young heroine in a Gothic story, not one who had gone safely in and out of different hot spots. The rest of all characters were likable or so-so but not significant enough. This part got 3 stars. Thus overall, I felt that this book should be a 4 stars.

Quite an adventure!,
By Dagny Ellis (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Medallion of Solaus (Paperback)
The Medallion of Solaus feels like an Indiana Jones movie! Seriously! What I found in reading it was an adventure-packed gothic romance that really played on persian lore and magic. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the heroine Kaitlin really swooned a little too much for my taste. The rest of the book more than makes up for it. Adkins is very talented at making the reader feel the sand, rock, sea, passion and treasure surrounding this tale. I recommend trying it!

An exotic tale of a modern woman's life colliding with ancient Persia, when an amulet begins to make the veil between ancient and present thin. A dark mysterious man haunts her visions. She is sent across the globe on assignment to photograph artifacts for a private collector. The romance is smoldering with passion. filled with action and danger, I think it would make a great film also.

A very enjoyable read!,

I was pleasantly surprised at the way Medallion of Solaus carried me along. I would not ordinarily pick up a book with an occult theme, and tend more to gothic and mystery, but found that the Medallion of Solaus includes plenty of both to not only hold my interest, but make this book hard to put down. I highly recommend it as a wonderful read to transport you from your daily commonplace to exotic places filled with mystery and intrigue, and will definitely be watching for the next book authored by Ms. Adkins.

This book was really great!,
This review is from: The Medallion of Solaus (Paperback)
Right from the start it was interesting, but what kept my attention all the way through were all these lush, exotic tales from Ancient Persia. The legends and lore in this novel are so well done, and it gave the book a really intricate sense of mysticism.
The charisma and passion between the two main characters was just sizzling, but there were some very, very fun side kicks, that made me laugh and really root for them in the end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes ancient legends and contemporary romance. It is a great example of the paranormal spin on the that genre.

I really enjoyed this book. Kaitlin is a photographer that has been taken to Egypt on a highly dangerous assignment. She meets Sol who does not remember his life before being found near a shipreck. She start's to have dream's about herself in past lives. In every dream Sol is her lover. Unfortunately in every life she meets a violent death. In this life they must find a way to be together and beat the cruel hands of fate.

A fun quick read,
This review is from: The Medallion of Solaus (Paperback)
This book was a fun, quick read that follows the exploits of a sexy widow with "an itch to scratch!" She gets in all kinds of trouble and finds herself in many sensual situations. This is a good summer on-the-beach book.

Romance is not dead!,
This review is from: The Medallion of Solaus (Paperback)
This book reminds me of the daydreams my friends and I had as young girls. It takes me back to days of truly believing in soul-mates and in believing in magic that could stand the test of centuries and fate. I honestly would not have picked it up had it not been for just stumbling across it somehow, but I highly suggest it! I think from the paranormal tag.

I thought this story was quite an adventure. This is a lush and exotic read from a very talented new writer. Bring out the belly dancers, we're going to Egypt. I can't wait to read her next one.
