Book Description

October 15, 2004
Medals Above My Heart is a devotional for military wives. The husbands of these authors wear their medals on their uniforms, but these ladies will share experiences of military life and reveal the medals they wear over their own hearts. Like the wives of great military leaders of the past, present day military wives experience challenges that stretch their physical, emotional, and spiritual resources. While it is an honor to serve her soldier, airman, marine, or sailor as he defends the freedom of America, it is not without sacrifice. They receive no medals from their country but receive a reward greater than any medal. They reap the benefits of personal character and leadership development, adventure, relationships, and opportunities for service.

This book has a religious point of view about how to see the positive side of a lot of aspects of being a military spouse. It has Bible verses as well as prayers. If you are not a Christian you may not like it. I felt blessed by it, and it gave me a new outlook as an Army Wife. HOOAH!!

After receiving this very thin book, I still gave it a chance and started reading. Within the first 2 pages it starts talking about honoring Him and that's not what I was looking for in this book. Great title, but very religious. Its not that I'm not religious, I just don't prefer to read it in a book like this.

4.0 out of 5 stars It was a good book...., August 27, 2007
This review is from: Medals Above My Heart: The Rewards of Being a Military Wife (Hardcover)
I thought the book was good averall but because I am not really in to reading religious books I found it a bit boring. The overall concept was good but I thought it would be more like a story without all the religious things in it. I would recommend it to those who like to read religious books.
