I tried a couple other CHEAPER pill reminders, all but failed over time. I like that fact it takes regular cheap AA Alkaline batteries than specialty batteries. Variable alarm/beep (4) settings or no alarm. Flip the Volume button for louder if you prefer. Normal setting was plenty LOUD for me. :) The female voice is an added bonus...hehe. She reminds me and then keeps on reminding UNTIL I TAKE THE PILLS, click it once, then she tells me my next Pill reminder Alarm/Time if set. The Screen lights up for low room lighting-schweet! Dropped it like 10 times since having a nervous condition and IT WORKED JUST FINE!

I purchased this little clock for my 85 year old mother who was getting confused about whether it was night or day and sometimes forgetting to take her pills or forgetting that she had taken them and taking them again. Sometimes she'd take her morning pills at night or the night pills in the morning. This little clock has been very helpful. If she gets confused about whether it's a.m. or p.m. she pushes the green button and it verbally tells her "Good morning, it's 10:00 a.m." or "Good afternoon, it's 2:30 p.m." I've set alarms to go off when she is supposed to take her medications so it reminds her to take her morning pills or her evening pills. This has helped her to continue living independently.

The Only reason I did not rate this product 5 stars is because of the prerecorded message that is included. The message says "Alarm Acknowledged" but it should say something like "It is time for your medication. Another problem is that my wife takes medication 4 times a day, twice in the morning and twice in in the afternoon. and there is no provision for altering the recording to reflect this. The first time it alarms in the morning and you acknowledge it it says "Alarm acknowledged the next alarm will be the afternoon alarm at (user supplied time set) AM. whoever programed the messages assumes that everyone takes one medication in the morning, one at noon, one at dinner and one at bedtime. I emaied the manufacturer about this but have not heard from them. My wife's dementia makes the messages a little confusing for her and it would be a simple matter for the manufacturer to correct this. Also it would be nice if it would allow for more than 4 medication times per day.

The clock performs exactly as advertised and the feature that tells the time upon pressing a colored button on the clock is very helpful especially for someone with limited eyesight.

I got this for my dad about a year ago because he was having difficulty remembering to take his medications and was getting very annoyed with me for calling to remind him 3 times a day.
He hated it. Claimed the voice and reminder were worse than me!
However, yesterday he called to let me know that the batteries had died and though he had replaced them, he needed me to reprogram it -- and he wanted it done right away. Turns out he actually loves this little reminder, he just didn't want to say so.
Since getting this for my dad his health has improved. Taking his medications in a consistent manner improves their effectiveness greatly and gives me a lot of peace of mind.
The clock is reliable, easy to read even with impaired eyesight, and, when turned up high, easily audible two rooms away even for the hard-of-hearing. It also provides a nice reminder of what the date is and the day of the week for people who may not get out much and whose memories may not be what they used to be.
I wouldn't want to do without this clock.

I ordered three different products to help my mom remember to take her meds. This was the most user friendly for her after I set up the times... I don't think she could have done that for herself.

This would be a fabulous product if it worked for very long. So far I've had 2. The first one lasted 10 months. The second one lasted 5.
