Upon first hearing this album I burst into tears, and found my own personal jesus. This band is that good.

5.0 out of 5 stars a masterpeice..., May 25, 1999

To say that this is one of the best underground releases in a long while is a vast understatement. I could go on forever and a day about this album, but that would be far inferior to the accolades that it does for itself. All I can say is listen...

5.0 out of 5 stars Under Appreciated Album A Must Buy, April 16, 1999
This review is from: Medeiros (Audio CD)
This album represents to me the best of the minimalist underground sound making a comeback nowadays. Riddled with beautiful melodies and evoctaive lyrics, like reflections of summer time as a child, this is a must buy and one of the stronger releases to come out in a while. Why it is so unknown and underappreciated is completely beyond me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Understated Classic, June 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Medeiros (Audio CD)
I agree this is an excellent album, but wanted to correct the fan from South Carolina. This album was released in 1997 not 1998, as he claimed. Petty details aside, this is a remarkable album, and one well worth investigating. Understatement never sounded so good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Album, May 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Medeiros (Audio CD)
I bought this on the recommendation of a friend and was somewhat skeptical at first. However, upon hearing it, I immediately realized all my skepticism was unfounded. Not only was it one of the best CD's released in 1998, but it marks a resurgence of good underground music. I'd rank this with Cat Power-Moon Pix, Billy Bragg and Wilcos' Mermaid Avenue, the Velvet Goldmine Soundtrack, Elliot Smith's XO, Pulp's This is Hardcore, and the Eel's Electro-Shock Blues as among the best of '98.

Relating to the May 20 message; Don't forget to draw the relation of them being "the next Belle & Sabastian."
