4.0 out of 5 stars A great sleep bra, August 1, 2005
I wear a size 40DD nursing bra, and I purchased this bra in size XL. It really is very comfortable: it doesn't bind, the fabric breathes and the shoulder straps don't cut into my shoulders. However, the stretchiness of the fabric makes this a rather loose-fitting bra; I probably could have gone with the large size instead of extra-large. I would certainly never wear this bra while exercising! I've found it's best as a sleeper bra. It holds nursing pads in very well, even when lying down and rolling over repeatedly, and it's the most comfortable bra I own to sleep in. Buy something with more support for during the day, but use this one at night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light Support, Maximum Comfort, June 30, 2005
By

Though I really liked Bravado! bras for my nursing my first baby, I decided to try these with my second. The fabric is very soft, stretchy and comfortable and washes well. The packaging for this one says you can put it in the dryer and so far (4 months) it's faired well. It's great for sleeping in during the early weeks when you really need something to hold yourself and the breastpads in. But if you're over a B or C cup, it's probably not your best choice for daywear except around the house. Try Medelas other bras for that. If your at the top end of the range for your size, go ahead and get the next size up as they do run a little small.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfort bra is the perfect name., October 22, 2007

(REAL NAME)
This bra lives up to its name. I bought it a month ago. It is very comfortable. It is perfect for sleeping in or lounging around the house. I have worn it out also and find it offers enough support for a 34DD (Large) but I wouldn't go jogging. I'd buy this bra for sleeping/lounging even if I wasn't pregnant or breast feeding.

One shortcoming is that I could not find a sizing chart online through Medela. The link on Amazon was a deadend. The chart can only be found on the back of the package which makes ordering inconvenient. FYI- a 34DD can go with either a M or a L. My lactation consultant suggested the larger size because you don't want anything too tight which could inhibit lactation.

I find the clips can be undone with just one hand but I have owned bras with easier clips. The fabric does tend to pill over time.

2/11/10 I still love these bras. I am not nursing anymore. The two bras I bought wore out after about a year of use. They started to come apart and lost their elasticity. I am planning on replacing these.

2.0 out of 5 stars Size is all wrong!, February 1, 2011

I ordered the size that not only covered my present cup size (at nine months along), but also showed to be big enough for when I am nursing. This was NOT an accurate description of cup size. I read reviews where women stated that the size wasn't accurate, but assumed that since I was ordering a Large- which covered up to a DD, and I am presently a C, it wouldn't be a problem. This bra JUST fits (albeit a little snugly) right now. It definitely won't work when I am nursing.
Trying to return it without paying shipping wouldn't work- incorrect size makes it sounds like I made a mistake in ordering, and I was going to have to pay the shipping. I decided to purchase other nursing bras AFTER trying them on first!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this bra, May 11, 2006
I wasn;t sure I would like this bra. After trying it, I purchased a second. It is so comfortable to wear, and easy to operate the clasp for nursing. The only downfall is that it isn's flattering under shirts because of its sportsbra fit. But it is so comfprtable that I wear it anyway!!

I highly recommend this to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this bra for what it's meant for, February 10, 2011
I've never written a review for anything before, but since I'm using them so much in my search for a more supportive bra, I felt I owe it to others to give feedback about what my experience has been.
I bought this bra while 8 months pregnant and came down with heat rash all over the areas generally covered by a bra. (You know what I'm talking about... underneath, where the band sits, in between the boobs, etc.) I couldn't stand the thought of anything underwire or scratchy or generally 'felt.' I wanted something that wouldn't interfere with the growing belly, would keep the boobs away from each other (skin touching skin while suffering from heat rash is THE worst), be something that I wouldn't notice, and be comfortable after birth. I planned to bring it to the hospital for when I felt like wearing nothing else, and it worked great for that too. My son is now 4 months old, and I LIVE in this bra. As a larger-ish cup size (DD, depending on the chart), I haven't found a nursing bra I've liked. I have this medela medium support bra in a Large (I'm a 40), and though it kinda cuts into my back fat, I wouldn't want in any bigger size. The support is minimal at best, and even though I'm sure my figure looks terrible in it, I'm so comfortable in it, I can't stop wearing it. Now that I'm back to my new normal, I have vowed to myself and my husband to find a bra that keeps them up where they belong, but I think I'll probably not find anything as comfortable for every-day-around-the-house wearing. I think it's like sweat pants--comfie and good for around the house, but I need something better for when I am around other people. The material is pretty darn thin, and breast pads--both the disposable and cotton, washable ones-show through. I can't imagine working out in this bra as the support is WAY too light. This might be because my boobs are generally so large anyways. The biggest issue, other than being a bit saggy, is that it's a halter top, so the straps show in even the slightest of loose, round neck shirt. I think you'd have to be wearing a turtle neck or hoodie for the strap not to show near your neck. Even in t-shirts it shows. I love it so much that sometimes I don't care that people can see it. But, be warned, it will likely show. Again, I love it. I'm actually not looking forward to something with more support because I cannot imagine being as comfortable as I am right now.
[I use the medela sleep bras to actually sleep in (criss-crossing cotton in the front), and I like those pretty well. My boobs tend to fall out once at their fullest (usually by morning, I'm half out and half in), but that hasn't stopped me from wearing them. I mean, it's not THAT much of an issue, they are generally comfortable, and it's easy to pull out the boob when the situation requires it. My son is now sleeping through the night and I continue to wear it, mostly to hold them in place.]

4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely comfortable nursing bra, February 24, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm 33 weeks pregnant, pre-pregnancy weight of 145, current weight of 175, 5' 6" height. My pre-pregnancy bra size was 34D and now I'm probably a 36E or F. I bought the XL as the size chart indicates, and I think it is a little bit too big for me, that's why the 4 stars (I ware it everyday anyway, so I'm definitely buying another one in size L soon). Besides that, it is the most comfortable bra. It's actually the only one I can wear for extender periods of time, even to sleep. All the others give me some discomfort in the ribs after a while. The straps are wide but tent to curl a little bit, although they don't hurt. I do have to straight them up every once in a while, though.
It doesn't say in this description, but this bra is described as a "Light support bra" so don't expect miracles. It IS very light support. My boobs are probably hanging lower than with any other bra I have, but this one gives them a nice shape anyway, and right now I rather ware a comfortable one (and somewhat flattering) that a super flattering but uncomfortable one.
03.13.10 UPDATE: I confused my size before: I'm probably a 36F or G now that I'm pregnant (almost done, though!). I just bought a size L and it fits much better than the XL. Still the only bra I can wear the whole day. They don't look perfect after a few machine washes, but are comfortable anyway. Will probably bought another one after I have the baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best for sleeping, June 30, 2006
This is by far the best nursing bra I tried for sleeping. I am full figured (34F) and a sleeping bra was a must while I nursed. I found this bra to be both comfortable and easy to use while half asleep. I didn't feel that it had the best support for daytime use, but I imagine that if you were smaller busted it would work just fine during the day as well. I had a difficult time translating my bra size to S,M,L type sizing, but I sent an email to a Medela rep on their website [...] with my conventional bra size and she replied that I would need a large. I would definitely recommend this bra to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, January 19, 2006
At first I thought i wouldn't like this bra because it has to be pulled over you head to put it on. However, this is the most comfortable bra I bought, and I bought a lot of different kinds. This is perfect for engorgement and just plain daily comfort.
