1.0 out of 5 stars Belt rolls a lot
The belt is really wide but I found it hard to put on (it seemed lumpy under my dress) and the top and bottom roll together even though I am not overweight. This happens especially when you are sitting a while. Uncomfortable - I really don't recommend this, you would do better with a thick ace bandage!

My mother bought this for me after having an emergency c-section. At first glance, I thought she had wasted her money, but once I had to get up and around after surgery, the support was outstanding. It also adjusts as your body starts to get back to pre-pregnancy size. Almost two weeks following the birth of my son, I am still using it. It reduces back strain and really helps the muscles get back in shape without over doing it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent but use with caution, August 6, 2005
I actually borrowed this from a friend who used this to recover from a tummy tuck. They put the incision in the exact location where our c-section scars were located. I think it's a great support just like wearing a weight belt helps you prevent yourself from hurting when lifting weights. The only reason I added use with caution is not a fault of the product. The doctors tell you to take it easy after a c-section. Yeah right. Like the laundry folds itself. It's great for giving you support for reaching down for the dishwash detergent and reaching up for all those cooking spices but since it gives you so much support, I personally found that I tended to "overdo it" since I relied on the support brace so much and secondly, when I didn't have it on, I would forget and do some crazy move that I should never have done without it on (like when I was in the bathroom). I think it definitely helped with reducing the swelling. I wore it along with some "grandma" underwear to help recover from my Csection. I wore it for 3 weeks after my csection. And yes, it does create a better line under your clothes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Postpartum support works pretty well, August 5, 2005
I used the postpartum support belt after the birth of my first child. A family member recommened that I use something to bind my abdomen to "help get things back where they should be". I do feel that this product helped to flatten my baby pooch a little quicker and it definately made my abdomen look smaller when worn under clothing. I would recommend this product to other moms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a C-section, May 2, 2006
I am guessing the people who didn't like this did not have a c-section. It is somewhat uncomfortable, but after a c-section it makes it possible to move.

1.0 out of 5 stars uncomfortable, February 25, 2006

I bought this a few weeks after I gave birth to my son. I wanted something to help get my stomach back in order. I found this extremely uncomfortable to wear with the velcro itching my skin. Also, the velcro area is not too flexable so it bunches up in odd ways often catching my clothing in the process. I only used it for a week and I couldn't take it anymore.... big disappointment for the medela name.

1.0 out of 5 stars Its useless., March 3, 2009
Diwakar's wife writing:
This is the most useless support belt I have ever used. Even with the right size, it does not help with the compression. It does not stay in place unless you are standing straight. Once you move or sit, it just rides up to the slimmest part of your torso. other brands with elastic like material work much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars This product is great!, December 1, 2007
I had a natural delivery. This product allowed me to walk around the house without my back becoming weak. I'm not sure why this product rated so poorly.

This support slipped off my hips, bunching up at my waist whenever I sat down. I sent it back.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not comfortable or effective, October 3, 2005
I have an hourglass figure and this belt rolled up at the bottom when I put it on and usually ended up around my ribs because it's slippery. Also the way it's made if you use it on the outermost setting there's velcro hooks sticking out to catch your clothes on or poking you depending on how you put it on.
