After reading the reviews of this tubing, I thought I would add a few details that may be helpful. Before ordering tubing for your pump, you need to identify which type of pump you have. (Is it a Medela Pump In Style Original or a Pump In Style Advanced?) This particular tubing will fit all Original Pump In Style pumps (Original Pump In Style pumps cannot be removed from the carrying bag it comes in) and it will fit Pump In Style Advanced pumps that were manufactured AFTER July of 2006. If you have a Pump In Style Advanced pump manufactured BEFORE July of 2006, these are not the correct tubes. There is another page to order those from. (They are commonly called First Issue Pump In Style Advanced tubes)
AT this time, none of Medela tubing comes in retail packaging. It is sent to the retailer in a giant ziploc bag and the seller divides them up and usually puts them in smaller bags of some sort to send to the customer. None of the tubing comes pre-sterlized so you might want to sterilize it yourself before using it. The silicone the tubes are made of tends to attract every piece of lint and anything else in it's general vicinity so even in the most careful re-packaging conditions you may find less than gleaming, shiny tubes but they should never have hair wrapped around them, as one reviewer complained! If you are unsure of which kind of pump you have or when it was manufactured, the customer service representatives at Medela are so friendly and should be able to help you identify it. The tubing works wonderfully if you get the type intended for the pump you have.

I followed the other reviewer's advice and called Medela's toll-free number to get this for free. I explained that I needed replacement tubes and the person was very nice and said, "Just give me your address and we'll send you a pair for free". It took just a few minutes and I got them in the mail a few days later.

I gave this 5-stars because this merchant is offering a good deal on this replacement tubing. This is a follow-up to all of the reviews about free replacement tubing from Medela. I have called Medela on 3 separate occasions over the past two weeks (Nov. 1-15, 2010), pressed 0 for the operator, was re-directed to customer service all 3 times with a hold/wait time of 25-40 minutes each time. The first two times I had to hang-up because my children were restless in the background. I gave up and emailed Medela customer service with my model number and pump description (Pump in Style Advanced Backpack manufactured and purchased in December 2005.) I received a generic email response directing me to order the replacement parts from their website, however this particular replacement part cannot be ordered from their website which is why I had contacted customer service in the first place! So today, I called one last time and waited on hold for 25 minutes. I spoke with a nice customer service representative, I made no assumptions about the tubing being free and was told they cost $4.81 per tube plus shipping and handling. The total for a set of 2 pre-2005 replacement tubes is $16.60 with STANDARD UPS ground shipping! Crazy! The shipping costs as much as the tubing! I then asked when they stopped providing one free set of replacement tubing and was told that they only provide free replacement parts for pumps under warranty (i.e. 90 days from purchase). I am NOT pleased with Medela's customer service!

Once again Amazon has disappointed me with their suppliers. These tubes arrived in seperate envelopes, the envelopes looked like they were taken out of the trash and taped together. When I opened the envelopes the tubes were shoved in and kinked. The one tube was dirty like it had been used. What gives? I am not putting these tubes anywhere near my childs food source. UGH!!!

The tubing arrived today for my Medela Pump in Style. I was terribly disappointed in the packaging as there were pieces of hair wrapped around the tubing. Furthermore, both tubes looked as though they had been used. Overall, it looks a little too unsanitary to use even if I were to sterilize. Gross! So disappointed!

This tubing does not work with my advanced pump in style model as stated in the product description. After my negative review I was contacted by Rebecca at set 4 baby. This was their response:

"This is item # 8007212 Medela tubing for advanced breastpumps including the new models. We have yet to have a complain that this doesnt' work with the advanced breastpumps. Re the packaging - It clearly states on the product page that this item comes from medela in bulk packaging and we repackage the item for individual sale.

If you had complains you couldve contacted our company we wouldve been glad you help you- maybe you don't know how this tubing works."

From the amazon site, I did read previous review stating that this tubing did not work for them as well as other complaints from other customers. I do know how to use the appropriate tubing as I have successfully used it for the past 8 months. The set 4 baby tubing has the adapter piece on one end of the tubing and does not come with the adapter piece on the other end.

This vendor needs to change the item description immediately. I purchased this item from them specifically because it was listed as being made by Medela. I received the item today, and it turns out it is made by Aerobile in Taiwan. They are charging $13.99 for this item under the guise that it is a brand name item, when another vendor is selling the exact same item for $9.70. The other vendor, however, is being honest and listing it as being made by Aerobile.

Please do not be duped by this listing. If you don't mind generic, save yourself some money and order from the other vendor. If you want tubing made by Medela, this item is NOT it.
