Sounds too good to be true because it is. Does not work with Braun 12-cup brewers; boiling water or coffee just flows down the sides. Guess it's back to the breakable Braun carafe. Do Not Buy.

I've had a Braun 12-cup coffeemaker for many years(model 4076R). This is an older model when they were still manufactured in Germany. I've purchased a newer Braun model to use at my office and it is of much cheaper quality and manufactured in Mexico.The German made model has a carafe with vertical sides and only recently I noticed that a piece of the plastic handle had snapped off. This unit is probably 20 years old, and while the carafe is still usable,I was concerned that the handle might just fail one day when I was holding a full pot of coffee. Most of Braun's newer 12-cups have a carafe that narrows at the top and won't fit my older unit. This Medelco replacement fits almost perfectly. The only difference is that the raised portion at the bottom is narrower than the original and therefore there is more room for "play" when seated on the base. However,this in no way interferred with it's function.This carafe even comes with two plastic adapters that can be used to accomodate different models but mine didn't need them. The drip-stop still works and I'm back to using this old work horse daily. I'm tempted to buy a back-up carafe now as I'm sure my German-made Braun will go on for many years.

Ordered this carafe and made certain that they listed my coffee maker as one that it would fit with. It didn't. The carafe itself is fine but it did not work with my coffee maker as it was "too short" therefore a waste of money. I threw the box and receipt away before I discovered this so didn't even try to get my money back.

My parents bought a Krups Model 212 at a garage sale for a half buck. It matched their deep blue toaster. Unfortunately, they didn't notice the carafe was cracked. I went to the Medelco site and cross referenced the Krups model number to this model Medelco carafe.

The confusion is the number of cups. The original Krups 212 carafe is marked 10 cups. This new carafe is marked 12 cups. The problem is that the size of the coffee "cup" is variable. Both carafes hold about 49 ounces at the top mark. The "10 cup" model has divided the pot into 10, roughly 5-oz, cups while the 12-cup Medelco has divided the pot into 12, 4-oz cups. Apparently the official size of a cup of coffee has shrunk over the years.

Here's the secret to the Medelco's success: the black plastic lid comes unannounced with two small adapters that insert into the hole in the lid so the "universal" pot's lid interfaces with the "brew-pause" valve on the coffee maker. For the Krups 212, I used the adapter marked "10 Cup." (The other adapter is marked "12 Cup" and is not needed.)

What can I say? Amazingly, the pot fits the old coffee maker perfectly, pushes up the brew-pause valve properly and allows the coffee to flow into the carafe.

The carafe is nice glass, made in Germany. Pours cleanly. The handle is glued to the glass permanently as opposed to the metal band that mechanically holds the handle on the original carafe, but it's sturdy and will work just fine.

I own a more than 10 year old Braun coffee maker, Aromaster plus 12. It is 12 cup version and one thing I liked was it has a control switch for less than 4 cup brewing. Sometimes you need just one mug-ful of coffee. After somebody broke the carafe, replacement carafe was not available, I bought a new 10 cup version of braun coffee maker, but the coffee didn't tasted as good. Recently I found that Medelco makes replacement carafes for Braun. I was concerned that it may not fit well.
Purchasing at Amazon, the carafe came with 2 adapters for the case when the height did not fit. But for my old Braun coffee maker, it was perfect fit! I didn't needed any adapter and the coffee tasted better than 10 cup version. The only down side is that the bottom side is a bit smaller than the rim of the coffee maker base, sometimes it doesn't sit at the center and you have to pay a little attention when you put the carafe back on the machine.

This carafe is a perfect fit. Comes with two additional lid attachments for other sizes/styles. Can't understand how anyone could have a problem unless they ordered for the wrong model coffeemaker. Most satisfied.

I had a very difficult time finding the correct replacement carafe for my Braun coffer maker, and I was very happy to find, reaplace and use this particular carafe. Does not make a mess and is very easy to reach inside to clean. You won't be disapointed!

Great quality for the price. Somebody mentioned the glass being 'thin' but looks to be the same as my original Krups carafe, if not a little thicker. The plastic is a little different but does not affect operation. Used with the 10 cup adapter. I didn't see my model machine specified anywhere so took a chance - just letting others know that it fits.

This replacement is almost identical to the original BRAUN carafe and didn't need any adjustments. So far as the bottom's slightly smaller diameter, it doesn't make any difference so far as the coffee maker's brewing characteristics. Two thumbs up.

This item is not as sturdy as the pot it replaces. Plus it was a little lower that my previous one, which meant I had to make some adjustments. It feels so delicate when I'm cleaning it out, so I have to handle it very gingerly.
