I have to fight migraines and arthritis daily. Being a pharmacist, I have access to a lot of different gel pack and similar products. This one excels by a wide margin for the neck, sinuses and forehead. It also works very well for the knee. The gel pack gets cold enough to be effective, which is where many competitors fail. But it is not too stiff to wrap around the treatment area. The sleeve and velcro-like closure are comfortable and keep the pack in place. I wish I could buy replacement sleeves, because they usually wear out before the gel pack does. Both professionally and personally, I think this is absolutely the best product of its kind.

Excellent for migraine headaches, stiff neck, and sore shoulders. It's a plastic sleeve about the size and shape of my arm, filled with squishy gel that can be heated in a microwave oven or in hot water, or you can freeze it. It slips inside a washable outer case (sort of like a pillowslip) with Velcro on the ends, so you can wrap and fasten it snugly around your head, neck, jaw, leg, or whatever, or drape it across your shoulders. Ahhh, what a relief it is! I bought one of these at least five years ago and have used it many, many times, and it has held up admirably. It's the first thing I grab when I'm getting a migraine. Very highly recommended.

This is one reusable hot/cold compress that is truly everything the manufacturer claims it is! Medi-Temp makes an excellent compress that can be used hot or cold to relieve pain from twisted muscles, headaches or a stiff neck. It works very well when it's within the sleeve cover that comes with it.

I recently discovered another use for this compress. I am currently suffering from a nasty case of shingles; and wow, how it can hurt! There's an infected patch of shingles on my right cheek that usually aches when I am talking; I assume that the bone inside my cheek is rubbing up against the inside of my skin and that must be causing my pain. I was amazed at how much relief I got from that pain when I applied this as a cold compress.

In addition, the sleeve cover fits well over the actual compress and after I use it on any infected skin I just wash the infected skin with soap and water to cleanse it. No big deal at all.

If you do want to use this as a cold compress you can keep it in the freezer; my only cautionary note is that after you take it out of the freezer it does become a bit more difficult to bend the compress to fit securely around the area where you have pain. However, don't let this scare you away. If you just apply a little more pressure to the very cold compress you can still mold it to relieve pain.

I highly recommend this reusable hot and cold compress. This product is reusable and it can easily last years. It is also hypoallergenic and that's yet another plus!

I've tried many other types of cold wraps and this one stays cold longer than any of them. It's become my new favorite. It's very comfortable and "squishy" and easy to wrap around your head or neck. Highly recommend!

I bought one of these years ago from a medical supply store when I was going to be having sinus surgery. It worked wonders for me. I was able to use it when I had migraines and it helped tremendously. I always wished I had more than one. So when I had be scheduled to have a tonsillectomy I started the search for them. I purchased 2 more and don't regret it! I don't know what I would have done without them!

*They get super cold, almost frozen solid, but you are still able to squish and bend to the shape you need.

*They stay cold for a very long time.

*The sleeve is soft and easy to use, it velcrows together to stay on securely when you need it to.

*Great for head, neck, knee's, arm's.. anything you want to wrap it around and need it to stay secure!

I have nothing bad thing to say about these! I can not say how good they are hot, because I have never used them that way, but I am sure they are just as wonderful. (My husband even used my original in his lunch a few times. So the uses are only limited by you.)

Make sure to order more than one!

As the title says, it does what it's supposed to do.
BUT it keeps the temperature for only a bit more than an hour, and takes a long time to refreeze.
Microwaving it (in case you need the warm one) is a hassle: it takes too much time (>10 min) and even then heats very unevenly.

I have 3 of these total now and cant live w/o them - I wish they would stay cold longer but other than that they are great. I replace them now and again because the velcro dies on it. I use it for headaches and they work wonders for me.

A good cold pack for relief of headache pains. Certainly a great convenience when compared to the traditional water/ice filled rubber containers. Wrap the cold pack around your head, and you can lie down and relax comfortably or even walk around with it on top of your head. My only complaint is that the sleeve into which the ice pack is inserted is very thin on the inside, which makes the pack far to cold for comfort for me. It would have been nice if there was an additional removable layer of material that could be velcroed to the inside of the pack as an additional insulator for those who need it. In the absence of such an insulator, I wrap a small ace bandage around my head first to prevent a brain freeze out.

I use the Medi-Temp for many things, I have had a number of injuries and you can fasten/shape the Medi-Temp onto any body part. I am a big migraine sufferer and the design of the Medi-Temp's velcro sleeve makes it easy to do other things while your applying ice because you don't have to hold it in place. I especially like it because I can go to sleep with it wrapped around my head when I have a migraine. The only thing I like better is a ice pack that freezes hard so I can apply pressure to my head or eye. This ice pack does not freeze hard so if you suffer from really debilitating migraines, you will need many of these in your freezer to sustain a really long lasting migraine. If you like a really cold ice pack they only last for about 2 hours. If you just want it cool, it will last longer than 2 hours. I have 5 of these (and other ice packs as well that freeze hard) and sometimes I run out of ice packs when I have a three day migraine. It also seems like they take at least 8 hours to completely freeze again. They only regret I have about these is not buying more of them.

I have used this product for years since I have a severe headache syndrome that has me apply the ice packs throughout the day. This natural remedy is in the place of many meds that I've taken over the years that make me ill. In the past, I have purchased them directly from the manufacturer. This time, upon receiving them, the dramatic lack of material in the pads was noticeable. They are about half as thick as they used to be and thus, their effect for my headaches is reduced proportionately. I have to use two pads for the results that I used to have from one. If this continues with my next order, I will complain to them directly and possibly try to find another source of pain relief, even though in the past I've not had much success. They used to sell this product at my local Wal-Mart. Sorry that is not the case but it doesn't matter who sells it if its quality suffers as much as it has of late.
