4.0 out of 5 stars An impressive score, February 8, 2008
This review is from: MediEvil Resurrection Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I read the pamphlet inside the cd case and it talked about the history of Bob and Barn and the difficulties they faced when scoring the original Medievils. They said they were composing on synthesizers and they wanted an orchestral sound to it all. Their problem was trying to find good samples of instruments that they could use. Well I think that for someone who has been restricted all this time in how they could compose, they really got to break the bonds that were holding them back with this score.
It sucks you into another world right away when listening to the first track. And from there it only gets better. I was also happy to realize that the music sounded fairly original. I think I read somewhere that it sounded like Danny Elfman's music, which in some places it sort of does, but I think the majority of it paves it's own path in style. This was a very good soundtrack, and for someone who hasn't played the game, it just makes me want to play it even more now.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have, March 15, 2007
This review is from: MediEvil Resurrection Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
For all Medievil fans and Playstation addicteds, this is a great chance to enjoy the fabulous soundtrack of this game.
As usual, the sound is very cinematographic and Danny Elfman-style,with a crescendo of evocative choruses (listen to "Welcome to Gallwmere") and Tim Burton-style songs (like "Comedy corpses" : very "Nightmare before Christmas").
For all Fortesque fans, this is a must have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Suited For Such an Entertaining Game, April 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: MediEvil Resurrection Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
The PSP release of "Medievil: Resurrection" was one of the most entertaining, funny games I have ever played. Imagine what the result would be if Tim Burton designed a video game, the dialogue for which was written by Monty Python and Ricky Gervais -- that is "Medievil: Resurrection."

Like I have written in other soundtrack reviews on Amazon, the game by itself is great. However, the soundtrack beautifully augments the various settings, moods and action sequences. It is a fun, lively composition that works perfectly with the flow of the game. More than that, it works great on its own, which is to say that this is a fine work whether applied to the video game or not. I was very happy to see that the soundtrack was being sold, as it is a wonderful composition that parallels other fantasy musical scores. If you enjoy lighthearted compositions, I cannot recommed this soundtrack highly enough.
