4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Buying May 9, 2006
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Video games are always a tough call if you've never rented or had a friend let you play theirs before buying. It can be very subjective and someone that gives it 5 stars may be a 2 star game to you. With Medievil I'll list some good and bad and hopefully you will see something that will help you decide.

The Good:

The game is very witty. Many of the cut scenes and comments are laugh out loud funny. The story line is entertaining and gets you involved right from the start.

The graphics are excellent. No choppy movements, and the action is smooth with no long load times. Rich colors, interesting scenery and it's easy to get a handle on the controls. As for the sound effects, the voices are great, the music is well done and the battle effects are solid and not overdone.

The not so good:

Not much replay value. One you beat it, there is not much reason to go back in and do it again. The mini games are fun, and if you play it after you complete it, will most likely be those, not the main game. Sometimes the camera angles are akward, and you can't control looking up/down and left/right like other games.

Overall, I give 4 stars due to the games that are clearly a notch above, such as Siphon Filter and Grand Theft Auto Liberty City. I had a good time playing it, took my time and made it worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its back September 25, 2005
By Jean
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
MediEvil is back into a portable gaming system. This game is very good,it has the same places of MediEvil 1,but some changes. There are new enemies, new characters, new story-line.If you played MD 1,you'll think its the same story and stuff. But when you keep playing, you'll figure out that its different. Its a pretty good game, with good story. There's a little problem,it is that when the characters talk, there are no subtitles so if you didnt hear well then tough luck. But everything is well made, the action is awesome, and the graphics are much better than MD 1 and 2,if you like spooky medieval games then buy this I assure you you'll like it and wont regret buying it.The one thing I think thats a little boring its that the big enemie, the big boss is always Zarrock.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a game! October 11, 2005
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
MediEvil Ressurection is a fun, addictive game. Read description above to get story, you don't need to hear it again from me. The genie that lives in Dan's head is hilarious. The plot is simple. The game play is not too hard to figure out. But the corky commentary and awesome graphics keep you coming back for more. It was a little hard for me to try to move Dan to kill the monsters. It's not too bad though.

I would like to make one last comment on the plot. Although I said before that it's not too complicated don't be scared away from this game! It's great!

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome =) February 19, 2007
A Kid's Review
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is great for the psp! The basics of this game are real easy to master, but combat is kinda hard due to powerful enemy attacks and poor defense. I just use cheat codes like press start and hold the R button while pressing down, up, square, triangle, triangle, circle, down, up, square, triangle. This saves you the trouble of your shield breaking. A new option should appear on the pause menu in any level; gain all weapons and immortality. This also affects your shield (only corn beasts in scarecrow field can take it away if you try to block them). Shields defend you, but can only take so much damage. Shields can be repaired for some cash... The graphics are awesome(duh!!it's the psp) fighting is more intense without any cheat codes, but I think it's more fun just to toy with them by using different weapons =P! There are many weapons which are all unlocked with the cheat code I told you about. Here are all of them if you're picky about weapon selection: one-handed weapons which can be used with a shield, wooden sword, short sword(not that short), hero's sword, club, throwing daggers, 250 daggers, battle axe, spear 30(like a javelin), lightning (magic), chicken drumstick 30; And the two handed weapons (shields can not be equipped) long sword(huge!!!!), magic sword(huge and fat), war hammer, woden's brand(sword and best melee weapon), crossbow 200 bolts(crossbow ammo), hero's crossbow 200 bolts, longbow 200 arrows, flaming long bow 100, flaming arrows(the bow is not on fire..), magic longbow, 50 magic arrows. Is that enough weapons for you?!?! Another weapon is your skeleton arm. There are three types of shields: bronze shield, silver shield, gold shield. There are a good variety of enemies. The levels are all different in there own way. Read more ›

4.0 out of 5 stars Great First Game November 16, 2005
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
With it's dazzling graphics, entertaining gameplay, and playful tone, MediEvil Resurrection easily poises itself as a great first game to pick up for your PSP. From the moment the menu launched, I fell in love with this game. The graphics are superbly done, and the characters and environments are great. The game doesn't take itself too seriously, and there is great, playful banter between the characters.

The problems do emerge in the form of poor target tracking with ranged weapons, as well as odd camera angles (at very inoportune times). Even with these setbacks, the game is not that difficult, and can be enjoyed with a minimal amount of frustration.

The Teen rating is accurate, as the game does have some very minor language, as well as the violent nature. It is not, however, a graphic bloodfest like some of the games out there. Rather, it's level of action is presented in a comedic manner. Most parents can probably feel quite comfortable letting their teen play this game.

In short, I felt like this was an outstanding game. While the camera does pose its problems at times, it in no way warrants some of the lower review ratings that can be found on the internet. I would recommend this game to kids of most ages as one to pick up and enjoy.
