4.0 out of 5 stars Why Post A Review For A Textbook?
Reviews are somewhat superfluous in light of the fact that this is a textbook and thus you probably don't have any choice about buying it, as was the case with me. Nonetheless, as textbooks go, I'd have to say I enjoyed this one quite a bit more than most. 2.0 out of 5 stars Great delivery, questionable quality
Book arrived in great time but the quality was not up to par as expected (excessive markings in pages and deteriorating cover were not as advertised) and several pages were missing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Why Post A Review For A Textbook?, January 5, 2006
This review is from: Media and Culture: An Introduction to Mass Communication (Paperback)
Reviews are somewhat superfluous in light of the fact that this is a textbook and thus you probably don't have any choice about buying it, as was the case with me. Nonetheless, as textbooks go, I'd have to say I enjoyed this one quite a bit more than most. It's remarkably up-to-date, which is vital in media studies (there will undoubtedly be a 6th edition very soon), and it's a very fast and engaging read. The author doesn't always keep his liberal agenda well hidden, but that is perhaps forgiveable in an age of increasingly conserative media. On the whole, this stands a better chance than most of being a textbook that you actually keep rather than trying to cash in as soon as the course is over. I kept mine.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book, September 21, 2010

Mandatory textbook for a journalism class I took. Very informative and honest, it really exposes mass culture in a way that is easy for most college students to understand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart, Interesting, relevant!, December 25, 2009
This is like no other textbook I've ever read! It's accessible, beautifully written and it's finger is clearly on the pulse of what's now in media and culture. Bravo!

I have been using Amazon.com for all my textbook orders for over 3 years and have always found the books I needed. Media & Culture is no exception. This is a great book; easy to understand, great examples, and relevant. I purchased the text for a Communications class and have been very satisfied with the informaiton it has provided.

4.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat what was expected, January 25, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Came in good shape, came on time. However, if you're going to sell the teacher's edition, it should likely be mentioned? Regardless, it served its purpose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Media and Culture Text, January 18, 2011

It's in good shape - there were some stickers on it that were peeling off when I got it, but no problems with writing in the book. I'd get a book from this seller again.
