Review for "Mediabridge Coaxial Digital Audio Video Cable - (4 Feet) - Triple Shielded, F-Pin to F-Pin with Easy Grip Connector Caps"

BUILD QUALITY:
---------------

For all three cables I bought, the build quality appears excellent:

(1) The pins were straight-on and centered.

(2) The connectors with and without the "Easy Grip Connector Caps" screwed onto the equipment solidly and easily.

(3) It is tri-shielded even though it is just short patch cable, very nice.

(4) I saw no negative A/V issues introduced upon installation.

(5) The cable is flexible but not suspiciously super flexible, feels about right for a quality tri-shielded cable.

THOSE "EASY GRIP" CONNECTOR CAPS:
-------------------------------------

The first thing I did was take the caps off and connect the cable without them. So indeed the CAPS COME OFF.

I then tried for the fun of it to connect a cable end using one of the easy grip caps. It's connection felt SOLID and EASY to connect, there was none of that feel where you wonder if you screwed it on tight enough. So thumbs up for the end caps.

WHAT AM I GETTING?:
---------------------

The layers of this cable are:
- Copper Clad Steel (CCS)
- Then a dialectic (non-conductive layer)
- Then Aluminum Foil shielding
- Then 60% braid aluminum shielding
- Then another layer Aluminum Foil shielding
- and finally a PVC outer jacket

They do not UL rate this cable (i.e. CM/CMR/CMP) so don't run this in between floors or in a plenum, get cable designed to meet code and fire safety goals for that kind of install.

I'm using this to connect my UPS to my modem (if you have cable internet access and have a UPS that has coax ports, you really should use them).

1) The cable is a little stiff, as coax cable typically is, but after I "worked" it a little, it's now pliable and is conveniently shaped to run right into the back of my modem.

2) I really like the red plastic twist caps. They work beautifully to tighten down the connectors without the need for a wrench. Very convenient, especially if you end up working in an awkward position in tight quarters.

3) The shielding works. This cable is in close proximity to several other cables and no problems.

4) There was no slow-down in internet speed after installing this to run my internet access through the UPS (The UPS I'm using is the CyberPower CP1350PFCLCD UPS 1350VA 810W PFC Compatible Pure Sine Wave, which is easy to set up and has performed flawlessly!).

Used this to connect my 55" TV to the surge protector so I'll be protected against surges. The product is as described and works perfectly. 5/5.

This is a good co-ax cable. I dumped Comcast and installed an attic antenna, so I wanted new cable from end to end. This cable runs from the wall jack to the TV. I bought from Amazon as I could get the specific length I wanted at a reasonable price and quick delivery (with Prime).

After using cheapie interconnects in past setups, I wanted some better quality cabling for a new project. These are thick, stiff, and well shielded, and I am happy with them. The "Easy Grip" connectors are really a plastic sleeve placed over the usual F-connector hex nut. They do indeed make the nut easier to turn; but most people will use them only once, at installation time. If you have tight quarters around your cables, you may have to "form" these a bit first. Individually boxed. Recommended.

This cable seems to be of good quality and the twist caps are very handy. It's easy to screw on and off. The only small issue was that the cable length was about 45 inches, instead of 48 inches, for the 4-foot cable. Otherwise, no complaints. It's a good cable.

Purchased these cables to connect to bdrm tv. As I have now 4 tv's in the home upgrading the cables is to ensure I have the best clarity. I purchased all new cables for every tv, and the EMTA router. Also, upgraded the splitter to Monster. All said and done the picture is excellent.
