Mediabridge - DVI-D to HDMI Adapter

Solid build quality; works as advertised; excellent value; reputable company (see reviews for their HDMI cables); if I need one again, I will not hesitate to buy from them.

This adapter seems well built --it certainly works for me even though I had to really FORCE it while connecting it to my Samsung 2233SW 21.5-Inch Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor.

You should note that "Sound quality" is not relevant to this adapter since the DVI-D interface does not carry audio. Instead you must use a separate audio connector. (I use the analog "headphone" port on my computer.) For those who are interested, you can find detailed information on the DVI standard in Upgrading and Repairing PCs (19th Edition), or at the Digital Display Working Group's (DDWG) non-commercial website.

I've reluctantly taken one point off my rating because this product needs a better description. I rarely let a product's description affect my rating, but I've stuck with Mediabridge because they usually clearly describe their products so I KNOW what I'm buying before I buy it. Here they've failed to note that this is an HDMI female to DVD-D male adapter, and it's hard to find when searching Amazon for an adapter with those characteristics. Instead you have to carefully examine the (excellent) photographs to discover what you're buying. Also, the Product Description is incorrect in implying that the adapter provides "... crystal clear 8 channel digital audio" since, as noted above, the DVI-D interface does not carry audio.

That said, I've been delighted with the quality and reasonable price of Mediabridge products and this adapter is no exception.

This adapter does not transmit sound so be sure to use a cable for the sound separately.

I used the dvi-d to hdmi adapter to connect my mac mini to a 50" HD Plasma and the picture is GREAT and the quality of the product is very nice and you couldn't find a better product for a better price

they either work or they dont. this one does. i used it to connect a pc to a 46 inch lcd tv to extend the desktop. the image is very clear.

ignore the five stars for sound quality this isnt intended to carry sound. it was to connect a video card to hdmi

I've been a frequent customer of Amazon since they only sold books and this is the first time I've ever had to do a return. Within minutes of taking this thing out of the box it broke. The inner part of the adapter completely fell out. There was no way to even try to fix it. I can't really say if it would have worked or not because the construction was so poor that it fell apart before I even got to hook it up. I was very disappointed after waiting for it to arrive in the mail only to have it turn out this way. I sent in a refund request and headed to Best Buy to get an adapter -- which of course cost 3X as much but at least it is here now.

It works perfectly as expected. No loss in picture quality. well worth $9 for it.

I bought this adapter to allow my 2007 Macbook Pro to use our newly acquired HDTV as an external monitor. Coupled with an HDMI cable, this works just as expected and the video looks great. (Note that this will only get the video signal out, not the audio.)

I got this to connect my Macbook Pro to my tv via an extra hdmi cable I had. Works just fine, no problems yet. Construction seems solid.

I got this adapter to run a 19" TV in my kitchen off an HDMI Splitter/Amp in my media closet. I'm not getting a picture at all, so I can only assume this adapter doesn't comply with the HDCP standard? All the other TV's coming off the amp (which is HDCP) work fine. I'm going to do some further testing, but right now, this adapter does not work for me.
