I purchased this product to use with my Canon VIXIA HG20 AVCHD 60 GB HDD Camcorder with 12x Optical Zoom. The connection is solid and the cable is sturdy.

Given that many retailers sell Mini-HDMI to HDMI cables for well over thirty bucks, most people may wonder about the quality of this particular item. Relax - it is a reliable product and the price makes it even better. I've been using it for two weeks constantly with my Sony High Def Camcorder and I am pleased.
The 10 ft length means that I can use the camcorder controls from a comfortable seating position instead of crouching by the TV before because the cord was too short. However, this cord takes up quite a bit of space rolled up (8" in diameter and 2" thick) in a camera bag, and for the sake of travel convenience (especially with a compact kit) I would recommend the 6 ft Mini-HDMI to HDMI version. In fact, I keep the 10 ft permanently connected to my TV / AV Receiver and stash the 6 footer in a Lowepro - Edit 140 camcorder bag, which I also recommend.

I thought the Canon-brand mini-to-standard HDMI cable for the Canon EOS 5d Mark II was expensive ($29) so I figured a trip to BB would find me something cheaper and just as good. When I got there, I actually was happy that the floor clerk asked "May I help you find something?" You know the drill... I asked for the cable and was taken directly to the section where they live. And then it got interesting...
They didn't have the mini-to-std HDMI cable, but for $160 I could buy the adapter and a std-to-std cable. Whoa-Nellie! So I asked if they had the Canon cable ($29 sounds like a pretty good deal now) and I got a blank stare. Back on the road, I decided to come here and found a much better deal. This cable is very stout, has quality construction, fits both the camera (mini) and HD-TV (std) HDMI sockets perfectly with no looseness or other fit problems. Don't spend crazy money on a cable like this. There isn't any reason to. And consider going for a long one so you can sit far from your HD-TV and run the device without having a short cable to tether you too closely to the screen. I'm thinking of buying another to keep in the camera bag for those impromptu slide shows at my HD-TV-enabled friends homes!
