5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent with Canon VIXIA HG20
I purchased this product to use with my Canon VIXIA HG20 AVCHD 60 GB HDD Camcorder with 12x Optical Zoom. The connection is solid and the cable is sturdy.

1.0 out of 5 stars HDMI Cables
These cables are poorly made. We use them to show video from camera and computers on TV sets, so they are plugged and unplugged between 3 and 10 times a day. Within one week of using the cables the connectors separated and the shielding was exposed. I guess they are cheap for a reason.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable Mini HDMI for Great Price, September 13, 2009

Given that many retailers sell Mini-HDMI to HDMI cables for well over thirty bucks, most people may wonder about the quality of this particular item. Relax - it is a reliable product and the price makes it even better. I've been using it for two weeks constantly with my Sony High Def Camcorder and I am pleased.

The 10 ft length means that I can use the camcorder controls from a comfortable seating position instead of crouching by the TV before because the cord was too short. However, this cord takes up quite a bit of space rolled up (8" in diameter and 2" thick) in a camera bag, and for the sake of travel convenience (especially with a compact kit) I would recommend the 6 ft Mini-HDMI to HDMI version. In fact, I keep the 10 ft permanently connected to my TV / AV Receiver and stash the 6 footer in a Lowepro - Edit 140 camcorder bag, which I also recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Less is More..., November 6, 2009

I thought the Canon-brand mini-to-standard HDMI cable for the Canon EOS 5d Mark II was expensive ($29) so I figured a trip to BB would find me something cheaper and just as good. When I got there, I actually was happy that the floor clerk asked "May I help you find something?" You know the drill... I asked for the cable and was taken directly to the section where they live. And then it got interesting...

They didn't have the mini-to-std HDMI cable, but for $160 I could buy the adapter and a std-to-std cable. Whoa-Nellie! So I asked if they had the Canon cable ($29 sounds like a pretty good deal now) and I got a blank stare.

Back on the road, I decided to come here and found a much better deal. This cable is very stout, has quality construction, fits both the camera (mini) and HD-TV (std) HDMI sockets perfectly with no looseness or other fit problems.

Don't spend crazy money on a cable like this. There isn't any reason to. And consider going for a long one so you can sit far from your HD-TV and run the device without having a short cable to tether you too closely to the screen.

I'm thinking of buying another to keep in the camera bag for those impromptu slide shows at my HD-TV-enabled friends homes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great with Canon EOS Rebel T1i, September 17, 2009

This review is from: Mediabridge FLEX series- High Speed Mini-HDMI to HDMI Cable - Category 2 Certified - 10ft (Electronics)
I don't have a Blu-ray burner and wanted to take advantage of the HD videos that the Canon EOS T1i can make. The cable that comes with the T1i is only a composite cable. The connector on the camera is a mini HDMI, which are still very hard to come by in retail stores. The Mediabridge HDMI cable is absolutely fantastic. It's a very high quality cable, but also very flexible. The 10ft length is great as well since I can sit in a chair close to the TV and control the camera. I have this connected to an older Samsung 50" DLP TV (720P). The image quality is amazing. I hope to connect to our 46" Samsung LCD and see videos in full 1080P, but it's a little harder to get to since it's mounted to the wall.

I would not hesitate to recommend this cable. The value and quality is unmatchable. Now I want to see what else Mediabridge has to offer!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine with a Nikon D90, March 6, 2010

No difficulty viewing video output from the D90. I did experience some delays in the getting the media to display on screen, but I suspect that probably originates in the camera rather than the cable. Otherwise, you can't beat the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mini-HDMI cable... but a bit stiff, February 22, 2010

The quality of this cord is great... seems every bit as good as the ones $50 or more. Works perfect with my Canon HF-S11 camcorder I purchased it for. The mini-HDMI end is a bit chunky though. If it were even a millimeter thicker it would be pushing against the door that flips open over the HDMI port on the camcorder. However, luckily it just fits.

The actual cable is a bit thick and stiff which is great for signal quality, but would make me want to secure the cord to the camera in some way if I was moving it around using it to film while attached. Otherwise I would feel I might break the port on the camera from the tension. I still give it five stars though as this is not something that could be considered a flaw in the product.

I purchased this to use with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 (even though the users guide say use only Panasonic cable blah, blah, blah. This one was 300% less expensive and has worked fine for me watching video and picture slide shows. I plug it directly into my Toshiba LCD TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why pay more?, September 29, 2009

I'm not sure why buyers pay exhorbitant prices for HDMI cables. I purchased this cable for a Canon Vixia HF200 camcorder and it works fine. It is well-made, very sturdy, and the 10' length allows you to sit well away from the TV during playback. Most significantly, its cost was about one-fourth the price of a "premium" cable. I had a very similar experience with a previous Amazon purchase for the HDMI cable we use for our TV. It appears that good quality cables can be manufactured and sold for a reasonable price.

Purchased cable to connect my Canon SD960 IS to HD flatscreen. Workes perfectly. All HD cables should be priced accordingly - just exactly how hi-tech does it need to be to transfer 1's and 0's ;p

Great alternative to the overpriced version that Canon does not include in the box when you purchase an HD camcorder or DSLR like the 50D. I searched for the Canon version and could find no useful difference from this Mediabridge version. I purchased the 10ft over the 6ft version so I wouldn't have to stand so close to the TV while viewing images/movies from the devices.
