If you have a ground loop, beware
on October 25, 2014
My audio setup has a ground loop. With this cable, the ground loop noise is extremely audible. Oddly enough, replacing this cable with an "audiophile" one (I tried an Emotiva 3.5mm to RCA cable) actually makes a *significant* difference in the level of the noise---it goes from being on the same level as typical audio to being a slight background hum (still audible, but much much quieter).
I'm not an EE by any means, so I don't claim to know why that is, but nonetheless that was my experience with this cable. If you have a ground loop, use a quality 3.5mm -> RCA cable or suffer the consequences. Ideally, one would fix the ground loop, but if you do not have the resources to do so at the moment, keep your cable choice in mind.
Other than that, the construction of the cable felt good: connectors were snug, the housing itself was a nice metal, and so on. I expect it would be a good cable other than the problem I experienced.
