I just purchased and installed this router, and I'm having constant issues with the connection dropping at random intervals. It's not computer-specific: the connection drops on my personal laptop (MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8) and my work laptop (Dell... May 23, 2013
My router started doing the same thing - random signal drops for a short period, but enough to lose printer and scanner connections. Suggest you call their 800# - sorry don't have it on me - you should have received a welcome email from Mediabridge with the #. They'll arrange for you to get a replacement unit. They stand behind their product - good people. That said, if my next unit has the same issues we'll be having a money-back conversation! Good luck.
Conflicting Reports On Compatiblity With Roku?? Oct 24, 2011
Hello from Medialink, This router does work with Roku players. There have been many reports of people having trouble with Roku's WiFi in general but nothing specifically tied to the Medialink router. Thanks, Medialink Customer Support 856-216-8222 firstname.lastname@example.org
How does this do as a range extender? Sep 22, 2014
Hello Joel, These steps will help you setup the MWN-WAPR300N to extend your existing WiFi signal. * Setup the router halfway between the primary router and the ultimate location you want the signal to reach. * Connect a computer to the 300N router via Ethernet to one of the Yellow LAN ports and connect the router's power supply to the router and to an electrical outlet. * Open an Internet Browser (ie: Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Apple Safari etc.) (You do not need to have access to the internet to complete this step.) * You will not have internet access, however continue to type the IP Address of the router into the address bar. By default it is "http://192.168.8.1". Enter the Username and Password. By default they are both "admin". * Click "Advanced Settings" then "WAN Medium Type" then Select "Wireless WAN". Click "Open Scan" at the bottom of the page. * A list of available networks will appear at the bottom. Find yours in the list (the Primary Router) and select it. Click "OK". * Scroll up and enter the Security Mode (ie: WPA, WPA2, WEP), WPA/WPA2 Algorithms (ie: AES, TKIP) if necessary and Key (password) of the primary router. This information can be found in your primary router's settings. Click "Apply" at the bottom. * When the router finishes rebooting, click "Advanced Settings" then "Wireless Settings". * Enter the name of your first router (the Primary SSID) into the "Secondary SSID" spot. In other words, delete "medialink" from the field next to "Secondary SSID" and copy your first router's name into that field. * Make sure "AP Isolation" is disabled and click "Apply". Then click "OK" when it says "Successful". * Click "Wireless Security" and use the drop down to select the second entry of your network's name and make sure the security type and password match on both SSIDs. You should now be able to access the internet by connecting a device to either router via Ethernet or wirelessly. If you cannot access the internet through the Medialink 300N router, make sure it is not too far from the primary router and make sure the security settings match on both routers. Thanks, Mediabridge Customer Support
WiFi Location Problems: Hello from Medialink, When using WiFi on your iPad or other mobile device, does your location show up in another state or another country? Jul 27, 2011
I received the identical message just now: The entered MAC address can not be added to the system as it has been determined to be in badOUI class of access points that are ineligible for positioning purposes. If you feel this is in error, please contact email@example.com The Skyhook screen shows my house right where it should be, but rejects the MAC address (which *is* correct, courtesy of iStumbler). So, do I need to try to get this into Apple's location DB or would it do any good to pursue it with Skyhook?
Hello From Mediabridge! Make sure you use Mixed WPA/WPA2 wireless security using both TKIP and AES fro your algorithms. If you have the 150v2 model, also make sure you are suing the latest firmware version 5.07.39, and that under Basic Wireless Settigns, AP isolation is disabled. With these settings you should be good to go! If you have further questions, please contact our friendly U.S. based support department and we'd be happy to help! Thanks, Mediabridge Customer Support 856-216-8222 firstname.lastname@example.org
