The Best Available Source for Deciphering Medical Abbreviations,

Ask anyone who has spent more than a few minutes looking through medical records and you'll hear unanimously that the number of abbreviations used by the medical profession is simply mindblowing. I formerly relied on several different online medical abbreviation and terminology websites with only partial success. Common knowledge states that online, searchable computer databases are far superior to antiquated paper books, right? Not for looking up medical abbreviations. I'd say I had a success rate of around 80-85% finding definitions for abbreviations using the online resources. With Davis' book, I can recall one (1) abbreviation in the past several months that wasn't there and I refer to this book on nearly a daily basis. And it's actually quicker to look it up in the book than to hunt online, especially if my first choice comes up blank and I have to go to a second website. Highly recommended.

Just got a job in a larger hospital with lots of unfamilier procedures and new abbreviations. this little book has not failed me yet. Its slightly larger then a regular sized paper back, and my older book. but its flexible and easy to read.
