Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

We have seen a shift from people seeking information about reflexology to actually wanting research to bring it into their hospitals, hmo's and medical practices. This book is about the issues that need to be addressed in order for reflexology to become a medical application. Safety, efficacy, mechanisms of action and cost effectiveness needed to be explored by research. The research has been accumulating for years but no one had organized it in those terms. The interesting part is that we are noticing that lay people are interested in this book as well. May be it is time for all of us to take an objective look at this fascinating field.

About the Author

1.0 out of 5 stars A Very Disappointing Book, June 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Medical Applications of Reflexology : Findings in Research about Safety, Efficacy, Mechanism of Action and Cost-Effectivness of Reflexology (Calendar)
This book isn't what you expect to receive, it is 32 pages in length and appears to have been written in only a few days. There is only a paragraph or two describing each study with not much substance. Many of the research reports presented are taken from the China Reflexology Conference Reports. So save your money and get the full reports from the China Reflexology Association. A very disappointing book from some once respected reflexology authors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Medical Applications of Reflexology - Problem Solved!, October 17, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Medical Applications of Reflexology : Findings in Research about Safety, Efficacy, Mechanism of Action and Cost-Effectivness of Reflexology (Calendar)
Have you ever spent hours and hours just tracking down information and sources? Gone blind just leaping from one web page to the next? This book solves the problems of research. If you want to know all the research that has been done on the subject of reflexology here it is. The best part about it is that it is objective. The Kunzes didn't evaluate it for you - they collected it all in one spot. Use your own intellect, scientific expertise and knowledge to judge the quality of this information. This is not an attempt to convince you that reflexology is a valid form of therapy. It is a catalog of the scientific body of knowledge - a rarity in the field of alternative health. Well worth the price.
