This review is from: Medical Coding : What It Is and How It Works (Paperback)
Chock full of info on a subject that doesn't leave a lot of room for inventiveness. I think it will take me a couple more readings, and a lot of referring back, to absorb it all. I will probably also read someone else's book on the same topic, just to add perspective. Medical coding knowledge is a must for anyone planning to stay involved in medical records as EMR/EHR comes into play. I am a medical transcriptionist, but my role now also involves a heavy dose of coding, which was not included in my education, so I choose to self-educate in order to stay on top of the game. I recommend that anyone else in the medical transcription field do the same in order to stay useful and necessary.
