I am absolutely thrilled with this product. For years, I have been practically unable to undergo an annual vaginal exam because of the intense pain. Sexual intercourse has been impossible, and until just a year ago, no one seemed to have a clue what was going on with my physiology. I was overjoyed when my gynecologist recommended vaginal dilators. After doing quite a bit of searching and looking over reviewer comments, I selected these and couldn't be happier with any other product. I have tried vibrators with absolutely no luck. They hurt going in as much as anything else. The great thing about these dilators is that you can start with a dilator just about the diameter of a tampon--something that doesn't hurt at all. There is no forcing or pain necessary. The idea is that as the muscles stretch and become accustomed to the insertion of a particular size, you can gradually work to dilators with larger diameters. And, with these, the dilators themselves are ultra smooth and friction free, hard, ultra-smooth plastic, that glides in, sometimes without a lubricant at all. And the handle really is fabulous. The dilators themselves are separate, but each one fits snugly and easily into the one handle provided. And--the handle really does make all the difference because it fits comfortably in my hand--so the use of the dilators is almost effortless. Nothing is big and bulky. There are no awkward positions or concerns about body parts falling asleep. Like arms that have to stay in one place for an extended period of time. What I've read is that you're supposed to use them several times a week for at least five minutes at a time, and these are perfectly comfortable while in place.Read more ›

This is a must have if you have pain during intercourse. Little by little, by using this product, you can help decrease the pain during intercourse. I had suffered with this problem for about 4 years and once I bought this product I was able to treat the pain. Now i get to enjoy sex! Life changed. Do some research as to how you are supposed to use this product.

I have struggled with vaginismus for seven years. About two months ago, I was finally given a prescription for physical therapy. My therapist recommended that I purchase these dilators. I was terrified since I have never even been able to use a tampon before. I was completely convinced that dilators were not going to work for me and that I would be too anxious to use them on my own. To my surprise, with the help of my therapist I was able to use the the smallest dilator with minimal pain. I have worked with them everyday for the since, and I just moved up to the final size earlier this week. I am ecstatic that I may finally be able to enjoy a normal, pain free sex life in the very near future! Never would I have imagined that I could overcome vaginismus in just two months. Of course there will be some pain with the stretching of the vaginal muscles, especially when you move up a size, but you control how much stretching and pain you can handle for the session. When I move up a size, I "warm up" with the dilator a size below the bigger size and that helps me to ease into it. I also heat up my lube and the dilator in the sink beforehand. I usually dilate for 40 minutes a session while relaxing with tv or a movie. I can't recommend these dilators enough for someone with vaginismus. I knew about dilator therapy for years and I was always too skeptical to try it. If you are trying to decide on whether you should purchase them or not, just do it!

No girl thinks that a Vaginal Dilator Set is in her future. Kinda like an artificial leg. It’s off the radar. Up until a year ago, I didn't even know such a thing existed (not the artificial leg, the whole ‘vaginal dilator’ thing). Like most other reviewers of this product, I was a target of a “Lady Computer" crash, and had a disaster of a recovery. Unfortunately, an infection of the Trojan Horse variety had been somehow (and unknowingly) downloaded at some point between the surgery and two weeks into the recovery. The reboot was not going well at all. And things went south from there.

After the infection cleared up (six months BTW), the input/adapter area was not accepting anything. Not a USB, not a power chord, and certainly not a ‘floppy disk’.

Then the doc cut off the supply to the pain meds. It was then he informed me that if I ever wanted to download some software (so to speak), I was going to need to start a rebuild of my ‘laptop’. The doc gave me two words: Vaginal Dilator. Seriously? Yep.

I shook my head ‘no’ and thought that I'd just tap that power button a few hundred times and eventually things would open up. And I tried. And I failed. S*** was locked down tight. So finally, I went looking for assistance. A quick Amazon search turned up few options, but I read the reviews and once I was reassured that it would be shipped discretely, I clicked 'buy.'

Review summary:

1. When used properly, it works. Don't just start using random sizes all willy-nilly. You gotta start with the ‘headphone jack’ before you can even think of inserting a ‘floppy’.

2. Use lots of lube. It's nice that they include some with the purchase, but I recommend additional. A spoon full of sugar? A fist full of lube.

3.
